The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

The events took place on the night of May 21, 1979, in San Francisco."

I heard the former site of Hanna Barbera studios (3500 Cahuenga Blvd.) was just transformed into an aprtment/condo complex. (Was doing a lookup on Maps. I presume the Street View shots there were from a few years past, considering how Maps works.) If you've been through that area recently, please confirm.

Since I brought it up, though, I remember the "special" episode of "WKRP In Cincinatti" that recognized the tragic event (merely on the basis that it relates to the series' setting). Also, I have a Who tour program that I believe was the same tour they were on when the Cincinnati incident happened.

Speaking of books, I've been thoroughly enjoying Tyler Coe's book "Cocaine and Rhinestones" about George Jones. Based on his podcast. Tyler may be David Alan Coe's son, but we can't hold him responsible for the sins of his father. His writing reminds me of Nick Tosches.
