A new set begins: Live performance and chat with Ben Monder
A new set begins: Guitarist Ben Monder is one of the most original,
inventive players to grace the jazz scene in recent times. Based in Brooklyn, Mr. Monder is equally at home providing tasteful
embellishment to other musicians' recordings as he is playing abstract, other-worldly lines on his own. By Ben's own accounting
he has played on over 90 CDs as a sideman. Ben Monder has four albums of his own, the latest being the lovely and atmospheric
"Oceana" on the Sunnyside label. He brought his guitar by WFMU for a live performance, along with a couple of new recordings with vocalist Theo Bleckmann.
