A new set begins: Live performance by Matt Schickele
A new set begins: Torn between two solo efforts, a new one in the works, his own band Beekeeper and the freewheeling bluegrass of the M. Shanghai String Band, Brooklyn musician Matt Schickele resurfaced from his immersion in these projects to play live on WFMU. According to Pitchfork Media, "Matt Schickele's approach is distinctly different, drawing from weird parallel universes of sound while still keeping one foot planted on Earth. It's a balancing act that's hard to fully comprehend, and even harder to ignore." Matt gave us a rare live performance of some new tunes for an upcoming release.
