A new set begins: Live Performance by Ensemble Adilei
A new set begins: The Republic of Georgia is renowned for its resplendent vocal polyphony. The male vocal ensemble Adilei has roots in Guria, Western Georgia - an area whose vocal tradition features improvisation and distincitive rhythmic yodeling. Adilei's New York visit includes a Wednesday night performance at Barnard College's Diana Center plus Brooklyn shows at Barbes in Park Slope on Thursday night and Jalopy in Red Hook on Friday night . Rob Weisberg of WFMU's Trans-Pacific Sound Paradise co-presented Adilei, and they'll sing (and yodel) their way into your hearts!
