A new set begins: Brooklyn-based musician David Nagler has a fondness for large-scale projects. Nagler set a number of Carl Sandberg's poems to music on his last album, “Carl Sandberg’s Chicago Poems.” David's latest is “The Appointees,” a musical observation, “informed & provoked by Trump Cabinet appointees,” past and present. David is also the musical director for Wesley Stace's Cabinet of Wonders, has worked with Jon Langford and is a member of the band Nova Social. Among the friends in the band is Bridget St. John, notable for two well-loved British folk albums, Ask Me No Questions and Songs for the Gentle Man, sung in her rich contralto. St. John also played alongside Michael Chapman at WFMU's Monty Hall not long ago. Bridget now adds vocals to David Nagler's songs and they played a few tunes for Irene. L to R: Stephanie Sanders, Annie Nero and Konrad Meissner
