timely as my wife's mother died a year ago today. a lot of half used jean nate sets and those christmas plates from the 80s

My grandmother and great aunt in Chicago used to put on a full girdle and pantyhose and bra set, and then a slip, and then a housedress over it. It made no sense whatsoever.

Fox:

That's exactly the way I use datebooks. Raised by a narcissistic mother, I doubted my reality. So in the late 90's early 00's I would write down every day how many hours of sleep I had, everywhere I went, everyone I saw, every drug I did, every sex I had. With symbols and abbreviations in the margins for quick reference.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm
StringOFperils:

Well. It's come to this. I'm listening to some complete stranger, telling me about the entries in his late Grandma's diary...and both of them may not even be real...and then a recounting of 'Spock's Brain'...and I'm parked here paying attention...and I'm staring at a screen, collecting my thoughts about the haplessness of my doing all of that....and I haven't seen anybody all year....and I'm talking to my cat...okay...bring on the alien abduction. I'm ready.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm

what was the symbol for sex fox?
Avatar 7:12pm

i know a lady who talks and talks and talks even when no one is listening. she's quite superficial and narcissistic.

the aliens are already here. they should abduct my co-worker who talks and talks and talks. maybe she could be implanted a vocal silencer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm
dale:

anomalee - she's lonesome is all. when i lived in brooklyn and older lady walked by my apartment with this little yappy dog several times a day. she would say to the dog 'susan marie johnson - why are you so upset today?' and she would continue the conversation down the block to the laundramat and she turned around and continued it back again.
  7:16pm
Miss G:

StringOFperils, I'm sitting here staring at the closed curtains, vaguely thinking of McCoy and Spock, and I've been talking to my _plants_ because I can't have a cat (but I'm thinking of getting a robot cat.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm
StringOFperils:

May I suggest calling it Susan Marie Johnson?
Avatar 7:17pm

i tried to walk a cat on a leash. it was a disaster. later we had another cat with cancer and she liked to go out so we took her out on a leash and was cool with it. i was afraid she'd run off to die somewhere holed up under a shed.
Avatar 7:21pm

i love animals don't get me wrong but sometimes human beings do the strangest, peculiar things to their pets.

I'd like to see Hearty in a cowboy hat telling people on the street to "reach for the sky! ...because how else will you achieve your dreams?"

is his reel moniker Hearty White?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
StringOFperils:

A cat on a leash is a cat that will want to exert its right to go over the fence, where it will end up hung there, suspended, like a paratrooper stuck up in a tree behind enemy lines. It's going to be epic...sooner ...or later.

the Triangle is a very weird place or it seems on History Channel.

Barry Farber claimed to have disproven the Bermuda Triangle on his radio show by having several experts each draw the triangle on their own map, and they disagreed with each other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm

Someone in there was probably writing it down "Bermuda: trapped underwater. Ugh"

@Hyperdose Too strange and wonderful for them
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm

I used to imagine the triangle as a shape partially submerged in water, like the fortune-telling piece in a magic 8-ball.

I used to do that with my friends at Cedar Tavern when I'd read Kaz's Underworld in the NY Press I'd've just picked up. But in addition I'd pass it around, hoping they'd find it funny too.
