and the inflatable squirrel carcasa shuts its doors for the foreseeable future (though i do have the keys if those doors ever need to be opened again). this has been an interesting 14 months. i am thrilled that i was able to provide radio from the apartment where i (and tamar) live. i spent a lot of time with music during this period and i’ve never tired of it nor found it impossible to find something new or interesting. i’ve rediscovered music that i haven’t listened to regularly for years. i’ve worked harder the last 14 months than i ever did on the show previously and having everything sort of prepared for friday night/saturday morning ahead of time (songs and order “figured out”) allowed me the opportunity to engage with you, the listener, and i now find that to be one of the most satisfying aspecits of the show. i thank you for helping me get through this period in our lives, and i feel honored and humbled if this show was able to help you get through this period in any way. if even for a moment wfmu helped you relax, breathe, chill, remember, dream, fly, laugh, cry, hear the grass grow, appreciate, wonder, smile, sweat, feel the weight fall off your shoulders, hear a who, sing along, see the giant invisible rabbit that follows each of us around, discover something that made it all okay, tear down a wall you never saw before, think through things, make a decision, empathize, fight the good fight, scratch an itch, dance the night away, dance the day away, dance about architecture, realize your place in the universe, experience an epiphany, introduced you to something new, fed your head, sent chills up and/or down your spine, caused your senses to work overtime, made the visions smell and the feelings taste, expanded the borders of your own private idaho, sent you spinning around the room, made you dance the batusi, well, then we did our job. have a safe, healthy, and happy week, enjoy life, respect it, and stay tuned for joe. thank you for listening.
