I've been back in TX since 2014 and in Austin since then. It's grown a ton even since I moved back here. I do miss when it was just a college and music town back in the '80's and '90's, even earlier 2000's. Those were its Golden Years...

I've had occasion to cross paths with both Nick and EmmyLou.. and have had some lovely conversations! Great to hear Koss (Paul Kossoff)! One of my favorite players.. I love Free's early records...up through Fire and Water, even some beyond that.. there is a UK multiple CD box set of rarities and outtakes that's well worh having a listen to. Unfortunately there was never a vinyl pressing manufactured.. Koss was another rock musician tragedy.. Born in 1950, and dead at age 25.. two years young for membership in the 27 club....

	11:55pm prguitar: coelacanth∅... yes, Koss had a sound all his own, which the brilliance of Andy, Simon and Paul Rogers supported tremendously.. Koss's playing was spare, his tone and hand vibrato unmistakeable! You would recognize his playing from a mile away.. I'm fond of his first solo album Back Street Crawler as well.. Pretty jammy.. though I enjoy listening to the players find themselves.. if I recall, Paul Rogers sings on the record.. maybe one song.. with a cast of other great supporting musicians.. I was thrilled to see one of Koss's Les Pauls in the exhibition at the Met of rock gear a few years ago.. Incredible what was included in that show, but I visited Koss's Les Paul on more than a few occasions.. It had a beautiful mysterious vibe.. Right up there with Muddy Waters' Red Telecaster, It actually gave me the chills!

I love Free's early records...up through Fire and Water, even some beyond that.. there is a UK multiple CD box set of rarities and outtakes that's well worh having a listen to. Unfortunately there was never a vinyl pressing manufactured.. Koss was another rock musician tragedy.. Born in 1950, and dead at age 25.. two years young for membership in the 27 club....

	11:55pm prguitar: coelacanth∅... yes, Koss had a sound all his own, which the brilliance of Andy, Simon and Paul Rogers supported tremendously.. Koss's playing was spare, his tone and hand vibrato unmistakeable! You would recognize his playing from a mile away.. I'm fond of his first solo album Back Street Crawler as well.. Pretty jammy.. though I enjoy listening to the players find themselves.. if I recall, Paul Rogers sings on the record.. maybe one song.. with a cast of other great supporting musicians.. I was thrilled to see one of Koss's Les Pauls in the exhibition at the Met of rock gear a few years ago.. Incredible what was included in that show, but I visited Koss's Les Paul on more than a few occasions.. It had a beautiful mysterious vibe.. Right up there with Muddy Waters' Red Telecaster, It actually gave me the chills!

	12:01am coelacanth∅: yes, prg his tone...and his soul. i feel, as with Hendrix, he spilled his guts out via guitar. understandably not a language everyone can relate to - him being so torchered; but it sure spoke to me. and yeah the whole band. criminally underrated. (i like the production too - contrary to some other opinions. so much so that i bought drum heads that were described as having that kind of sound)
