Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm
Nate K.:

Hey, Drew!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33pm
Nate K.:

Man, I've played this Turtles song a lot...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm
drew73:

That pretending-to-be-a-different-band thing was huge in the late 60s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm
Nate K.:

The Electric Banana aka the Pretty Things
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm
Nate K.:

There must be more...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm
ultradamno:

Well, later than that but The Bananamen (The Sting-Rays) in the 80s is a favorite of mine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm
Nate K.:

There was also the Downliner's Sect as FU2, featured on this very program a few years back. But that's alos a few years later.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52pm
ultradamno:

I'm certain Don Bolles and Noah Wallace pm Wired Up have mentioned some glam and bubblegum acts that were incognito but I'm not recalling specifics at the moment
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56pm
drew73:

I was just thinking of the Fab Four sporting moustaches and brightly colored jackets, but they weren't really going incognito.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
Nate K.:

That works, though, they were kind of taking on the persona of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band for that album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm
Pauly from Clifton:

When I was a much younger snot, I remember some of my older sister's friends going into NYC and seeing "Soft White Underbelly" or Blue Oyster Cult. I actually saw them play the Capitol Theatre (Passaic, NJ) in the 80s. Weird bill with Blackfoot and Krokus supporting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12pm
ultradamno:

Klaatu and Orion were good not really famous people undercover acts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
ultradamno:

I can also recall back in the day there being speculation that Pork Dukes were either Steeleye Span or Throbbing Gristle (the latter probably only because they had a song called that)

otto:

YEA NATE!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
TonyR:

Don't say "homestretch"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm

Yeah, already weird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm
