I had all the Creedence 45's on Fantasy & The Monkees on Colgems & so many others. I gave them all to a friend whose Dad bought a jukebox for their den. Well over 100 records. A big collection for an 11 year old.

I had boxes of sports cards & others like Batman,Beatles,Monkees etc. A friend of my Dad's whose son was born with really bad vision problems always talked about how much he'd like to play sports like the other kids. I gave him all of my cards when I was about 17 because he could see well enough to read the stats on them & enjoys sports at that level at least. I felt it was something I had to do.

He went on about how he insisted that the band do nothing at all to "Come and Get It" and how that frustrated them, but he knew it was a hit and nothing could change. And then Paul's like, "And then a little while later he committed suicide..." like it was a mystery. Nothing about the record company screw over. I was surprised.

But it's looking back on how you lived your life that can make or break your present state of mind. If you are at the very least basically satisfied with what you've done on the road of life in whole during this brief existing time here on Earth, then your doing great. And knowing that should help give you peace of mind and realize your remaining years are a reward and not an abrupt end to life.

Newer on disk formats for mass storage include some safety features to protect the data in the files stored on it from becoming corrupted . Hfs on the Mac fat , original NTFS on pc ,did not include this. It’s not uncommon for data being read / written to have some of it mis-read/written over long periods of time . https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11983160 https://m.slashdot.org/story/203335 All of that being said ZFS is the gold standard for protecting from this sort of stuff . But setting up zfs on a Mac or pc is not a trivial task .

I had boxes of sports cards & others like Batman,Beatles,Monkees etc. A friend of my Dad's whose son was born with really bad vision problems always talked about how much he'd like to play sports like the other kids. I gave him all of my cards when I was about 17 because he could see well enough to read the stats on them & enjoys sports at that level at least. I felt it was something I had to do.

Newer on disk formats for mass storage include some safety features to protect the data in the files stored on it from becoming corrupted . Hfs on the Mac fat , original NTFS on pc ,did not include this. It’s not uncommon for data being read / written to have some of it mis-read/written over long periods of time . https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11983160 https://m.slashdot.org/story/203335 All of that being said ZFS is the gold standard for protecting from this sort of stuff . But setting up zfs on a Mac or pc is not a trivial task .
