Observations:

Hi drjazz - yes! I listened to it; lots more stuff that I didn't have time for this week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
WR:

I missed his 1973 foray into electronic keyboards and had long thought of him only as "straight ahead" jazz player. Have greatly enjoyed hearing his other explorations and expeditions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
doctorjazz:

I also thought of him in a standard jazz piano vein.

Just now preoccupied, I will take in this show on the archive. Long time admirer of Zeitlin's many facets.

Observations:

he's lived a very full life, he's gone back to totally free improv lately, which is awesome for an 84 year old! lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm
WR:

But what did mom serve for the Sunday dinner?

Totally wackvthat Columbia wasn't will to record/ release his exploratory material. What the hell, Miles and Weather Report were on Columbia.
  8:59pm
Dean:

Just realized that I had the good fortune of finding this Expansion LP several years ago.
  9:00pm
Dean:

The label resided just north a few blocks of the UC Berkeley campus. It's now a very active new music venue and lab.

The label of the reissue being 1750 Arch.

Absolutely. Buckner performed a recital there a few years ago. Was a pleasure meeting him.

Thank you for sharing the interview with us on WFMU. Have greatly enjoyed the whole episode. At 84, does he still have active psychiatry practice?
Avatar 9:54pm
Observations:

Yes, he's still an active psychoanalyst
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59pm
WR:

For some reason my mind keeps contrasting what they did on these sessions with what Soft Machine was doing.

I can hear that, WR....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:01pm

Again, many thank yous, David.

It's Kris's wife birthday, I think. They were going to dinner before he did his show. Guess a bit late getting back. Or whatever.
