My pal Chris Anderson just sold his euphone tech to a guy in California who has better marketing skills. Euphones are excited box resonators that used to be done with glass rods (think: Cristal Bachet) , but he found that polished steel (actually, reusable steel straws) worked just as well and didn't break.

@northguineahills i have made (really, had artisans make for me) glass instruments in the past - inspired by hang drums - and i have broken nearly all of them! glass and percussion are not always a great combination.
