Thanks for playing Gun. Their song Race with the Devil became a heavy metal standard. The Gurvitz brothers went on to form the Baker Gurvitz Army, with Ginger Baker, another overlooked band.

Hey WM that track sure sounded Oasis like to me Do you think those naughty Gallagher brothers cribbed from the Gun and a lot of late 60’s and 70’s UK local fm pop?
One more request Bunny, please play anything by Captain Beefheart.

WM:
I never listened to Oasis much. Of course, they could have lifted some of their music from other sources. (Very common place.) I like the extended track Take Off on the Gun record.
@WM I remember the opening piano riff of Oasis's big hit "Don't Look Back in Anger" being somewhat similar to that of John Lennon's "Imagine". I think Noel Gallagher even admitted that it was inspired by Lennon's "Imagine". So they were definitely known to be strongly inspired by an existing piece of music and building their own music based upon that.

I can dig it fellas- Steal from the best and you do the rest!

Some WFMU DJ should do a program entirely of plagiarized songs featuiring first the original and then the copy. That show could take up an entire 3 hours.
3:30pm
Mr. Oxford:
@WM I live in Estonia and there used to be a radio program here dedicated all the Estonian language songs which were note to note the same ass other international songs (some were actual renditions and some were plagiarized). They'd play the original first and then the Estonian version. That radio program lasted quite a few years. You have a very similar idea which could be a hit!

Calling all Lawyers! you could call it Wait’ll you hear how Duran Duran ripped off the Italian original of their mega hit “Rio”!
3:32pm
Mr. Oxford:
*same as other international songs. What I had written originally was a type.
Thank you Bunny! Beefheart sounds veryy normal haha :)

@Mr. Oxford: The very fine sax/flute player Charles Lloyd recorded a live album in Tallinn, Estonia in 1967.
3:38pm
Mr. Oxford:
@WM oh wow that is very interesting. Didn't know that. That too in 1967. Thanks for that interesting info!

@Mr. Oxford: I'm sure you know Estonia has two native religions Taaraism and Maausk. Members serving in the Estonian military have the religion identified on their dogtags as EST.
I’ll have to see those movies, always wanted to. I also know she’s the girl who sings Zou bisou bisou

WM:
This is the first time I've caught your show, but from now on I'll be a regular listner. As for a request how about The Kettle by Colosseum from Valentyne Suite?
