Raise wages, more money in the economy, employers paying staff more, so they raise the prices of products.
Huge businesses can absorb the payroll raises (but don't) while small businesses get hurt.
Everybody wants more but sometimes it backfires

It's the way it is.
You either have a free market or you have a communist society where all work for the State.
Obviously that is a horribly flawed model.
Unless the U.S. can convert overnight to a large scale barter system (not practical or likely) we have to deal with what we have.
I cut corners on my grocery bill every week. It's gone up, but we manage it in our own way.

If you're broke (like me lol) or if you also wanna give food, it's also traditional to give Oranges. They are a symbol of the New Year as well!

We vote, we put people in office to look out for our interests (Democracy being suspect lately) .
You work, you earn, you pay taxes, your tax dollars are spread between local, state & federal entities & are used(and mis-used) to fund things like public schools, roads & bridges etc , (& lots of waste). Things society (Socialism is not a bad word) as a whole benefit from.
I started working full time at age 15. I'm now retired. I've seen this economy play out over & over. Things rise & fall.
America has sealed it's own fate in a lot of ways with it's "bigger is better" attitude of the 80's.
Now we're owned by the likes of amazon, walmart etc.
It sucks, sure, but the best any of us can do is what we can do individually. Enough people do something the numbers add up & things change.
Anyway, don't want to get into deep stuff here
It's animal time :)
Nice discussing this with you though :)
