Best way to get egg prices down? STOP buying them. When the retailers realize they aren't going to get the inflated prices for the product, the price will fall.

The bad animals here are the noisy mice in the electric stove. They run out to use a certain cabinet as toilet, but what scares me is the thought that they'll chew into the wires and start a fire. The neighbors with cats say they still have mice.

You have to start somewhere. BTW...this inflationary curve was due to happen. First the Covid supply chain disruptions which for the most part are over, then with eggs bird flu (terrible as one farm in IOWA had to kill 5 million hens to be stop the spread of it).

Raise wages, more money in the economy, employers paying staff more, so they raise the prices of products.

Huge businesses can absorb the payroll raises (but don't) while small businesses get hurt.

Everybody wants more but sometimes it backfires

I see lots here complain about "capitalism" yet they go to work everyday? In essence we become part of the problem.

It's the way it is.

You either have a free market or you have a communist society where all work for the State.
Obviously that is a horribly flawed model.

Unless the U.S. can convert overnight to a large scale barter system (not practical or likely) we have to deal with what we have.

I cut corners on my grocery bill every week. It's gone up, but we manage it in our own way.

For the Chinese New Year, it is also traditional to give red envelopes with money in them.

If you're broke (like me lol) or if you also wanna give food, it's also traditional to give Oranges. They are a symbol of the New Year as well!

So from what I gathered of Paddington from that song... Was Curious George the Monkey our American version of Paddington? Because if memory serves me correctly, Paddington was Peruvian, but came to Britain (as he was a British children's book character) and got up to shenanigans.
Avatar 7:38am

↳ TDK60 @7:29
Sure it does. If we work we contribute to the way things are. As for Democratic /Socialism..that is what we live in today.

We vote, we put people in office to look out for our interests (Democracy being suspect lately) .

You work, you earn, you pay taxes, your tax dollars are spread between local, state & federal entities & are used(and mis-used) to fund things like public schools, roads & bridges etc , (& lots of waste). Things society (Socialism is not a bad word) as a whole benefit from.

I started working full time at age 15. I'm now retired. I've seen this economy play out over & over. Things rise & fall.

America has sealed it's own fate in a lot of ways with it's "bigger is better" attitude of the 80's.

Now we're owned by the likes of amazon, walmart etc.

It sucks, sure, but the best any of us can do is what we can do individually. Enough people do something the numbers add up & things change.

Anyway, don't want to get into deep stuff here

It's animal time :)

Nice discussing this with you though :)

I was thinking about a fireworks-making technique. Fell asleep and dreamed about doing it. Then I was with a friend I haven't seen in decades, and he was bugged that I was rolling cases for fireworks on a table of his. So I went out to get on a bus, and there were people pushing like a rugby scrum to get on, so I entered the unguarded back door, but I realized it was the wrong bus when it made a right turn, so intended to get off at the first stop. That's when I woke up to silence.
