I was a very loud barre-chord basher grrl who had no use for prog rock and pastoral 12-string atmospheres…but there's a live recording of The Knife which is completely insane: Phil Collins could be a thrash drummer. Hacket is way ahead of the era's guitar-hero game, Rutherford's bass is monstrous, and the whole band is just lit. There's…well, very little else like it in their catalogue but it made me reconsider the band.
