I've been meaning for weeks to check if this was still posted. Something for viewing later. Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" live in a TV studio with a large band of proggy all-stars. See how many you can identify.
I love your show. Thanks for playing some 80s prog too. As a request, I'd love it you could play the live version of "We Are Sane" by Twelfth Night. Here's a link : https://youtu.be/_9H5Tfdvfq4
...after the dimensional ruptures ~ breakthrus of the Psychedelic & Revolutionary 1960s - all was pastiches of alternative universes - presented to us as authentic monoversal variations...
Okay. I'll buy that.
Here... No power at home here 8a-4p CST; power company project in our neighborhood. Had to work in an office, rather than from home, for once... The agony haha
I've never seen the (theatre) musical, even though I've known this song since I was around 4 or 5. I really want to, esp. as it's based on one of my favorite movies, "The Apartment"
It's interesting that Arthur Lee & Love were drawn to a Bacharach song for their breakthrough. (Even if they 'reduced' it.) A most complex 'GarageBand'.
Is it weird for me to say I am going to stop caring what others think and then immediate tell my family and friends who are ignoring me online that I am upset they don't believe in me more lol
I saw this tour in '74 Carnegie Hall,NYC. Turned Todd's bass player, John Seigler on to some good hashish in the mens room. Didn't know it was him. Everybody was dressed like freaks. He got up there & played his ass off
The ORIGINAL UTOPIA lineup (before what we heard) I think they did one or maybe 3 gigs gig (Todd's book explains the why) . Here's the show at CW Post in Long Island: www.youtube.com...
Nope, Slade's first record using just that name. They changed styles a lot, though super successful (in the UK anyhow) only with their glam phase, 71-73.
This album I guess started as a kind of follow up to the Slapp Happy/Henry Cow Desperate Straights but ended up revealing a rift in Cow that Cutler and Frith wanted to do songs while every one else wanted to concentrate on long form compositions and....Art Bears became a thing
