Make sure to check out my friend’s exhibit. Think it will be in the grandstand to the right if you go in the main entrance from the track. I know it has something to do with Puerto Rico but never really pressed her for details. Figured I’d see it in person and then talk with her about it.

I haven't 'pruned' LPs in a while, in part because I've been more intentional with what I've been buying. But I hear you Kris on the space to keep it all, and how frequently some of the records in a collection will actually be listened to!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
Matt from New Orleans:

I won’t actually be here for the second weekend Candy. For a variety of reasons decided to move out of my apartment at the end of the month and go to NY for the summer. Not sure what’s next after but open to coming back after a break.

I am about to prune my collection
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30pm

Avatar 10:32pm
Kris Holmes:

My LPs are always getting chopped & sent to the shop. Probably a big cull every 2-3 months. I keep it pretty tight at around 2000 LPs. Can't fit more than that, so when something is filed something else has to get unfiled.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:32pm
JtotheK:

Yes, enjoy it Andrew!
Avatar 10:33pm
Kris Holmes:

It's actually pretty stressful for me to get rid of them because at this point they're all good & none are bad :(
Avatar 10:34pm
Kris Holmes:

At one point I had 10000 LPs when I was between marriages. Glad it's not out of control like that anymore

I think there was a record fair recently, one that has moved from venue to venue in the past decade. I haven't been to one in ages, but used to have decent luck finding "medium rare" records or cheap (but good) common records. Slowing down on buying has meant I've slowed down pruning.

JtotheK:

↳ Kris Holmes @10:33
I still have plent of 'mediocre' LPs that I've kept around, 1 trackers or stuff that was sampled by hip hop groups. At some point I likely should go through some of that stuff again.

When I had a lot in the house, they were upstairs actually bowed the floor & the doors wouldn't close on the 2nd floor anymore.

Yep! Already had a nice time this afternoon chatting with Patrick and Pat from Schizophonics. They were the first to arrive. We hung out for a couple of hours and had Whataburger from across the street. I rarely ever eat fast food like that, but Whataburger isn't too bad.

Don't think I've ever approached the 10k LP mark, probably not even half that. But like you said in your intro comments - I do have A LOT of albums by certain artists. Coltrane, Miles Davis, While I "celebrate their entire catalog" I certainly don't listen to ALL the albums on a regular basis.
