I think it was much different than when you were there. Not anywhere near as crazy, and it’s million dollar homes now. It got kinda weird during Covid so we bailed but it’s overall a really nice neighborhood

There are some by the bay like that here. They even renovated one completely and kept it totally true to it's roots!! Most of the mid-century homes in our neighborhood are Spanish Revival style. Ours is one of the only moderns.

Nice. Some of the best mcm homes I’ve ever seen are in SD, particularly the area close to Shelter Island. Strong tiki design, minimalist Japanese elements, in other words perfect homes(imo).

My best friend was in grad school at American. I was in grad school at Indiana-Bloomington and I wanted to get out of there after a bad breakup. So I took a year off from my program and my friend said "come live with me, it'll be fun." Sometimes it was, but sometimes it was a fucking nightmare --- especially the riot, where we got tear gassed by DC cops, had molotov cocktails crashing around us, etc.
