This "January 2nd" episode is sort of billed as a "just after Christmas" show at the beginning, but doesn't really have much other holiday content. But it could be before New Year's, or just after... the "after Christmas" is vague.

It's it set in the 19th Century? I was thinking some sort of coastal, sea-faring style 19th Century stuff.

Well, I guess so. I bought one of those new Ai robots and he is supposed to do everything so I can relax. He seems really eager to do the show, so I'm going to let him do it.... But he keeps mumbling something, and I can't understand what he is saying.... Something about "Taking over and next is the world..." I figure it's just a glitch... Will take it back to the service center tomorrow... Should be fine.

Diogenes Murphy has been implicated as Rembrandt's "partner" in the various episodes where that comes up. Or, as close to a "partner" as this show could say in 1950.

<taps side of nose> There's clues - some more obvious than others - that Rembrandt is queer. But in a coded, late 40's sort of way.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:18pm
Austin Rich:

Rembrandt is sort of the original Smithers, in a way. It was clear to fans, but just obscure enough to the casual listener.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:20pm
Austin Rich:

I appreciate that, even though the number was clearly said by the bird earlier, that Candy didn't catch it... and couldn't recall the number. It's a small detail, but I like that she has to come back to get the number that could have easily been claimed to have been "remembered."
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
Austin Rich:

Natalie Masters seems to be flubbling more lines this episode than normal. The show is always live, so I'm surprised there aren't mistakes everywhere. But still, I love her performance of Candy, flubs and all.

Growing up is hard. My mom told me I fell off the back of a motorcycle that had gone past the house, and they felt bad for me, so they decided to raise me like I was their own. If I didn't look exactly like my Dad and my brothers that might have scarred me more.

Seems like things are finally happening on Chandu... sort of. They are still looking for Robert... and Roxor is still out to get them. But he is also now an evil scientist out to destroy the world... which is... interesting, I guess? But sort of doesn't really change anything about the way the show works.
