There was a short discussion about covers on an earlier show today. This is an example of a great cover of an equally great original. The best covers drastically change up the original. If you’re just going to do a note-for-note cover, there is absolutely no point.

So true. Like my personal all-time favorite cover - Mr Tamborine Man by the Byrds. Not that the Dylan original was bad by any stretch of the imagination, but the Byrds cover is infinitely better. It’s brilliant.

Academia and corporations are losing people in TX and FL as we speak. I'm trying to get artistic/political actors from out of state to perform down here, so, the younger peeps know they are not alone. There's a vibrant scene here, but it's much smaller than it should be for a city this 'large'.

that’s a shame about florida and texas, would not suprise me in the least if WDW bails on florida and goes elsewhere

Strange to think that Andrew Gillum only lost the governor’s race against Ol’ Pudding Fingers by a hair, but it’s true.

I may be wrong, but My sense is that there is absolutely zero “alternative/indie” music scene in Miami/South Florida whatsoever. I can think of only a handful of bands that have performed down here since I moved here in January 22. LA Witch played a show in Miami, Death Valley Girls are playing a show in West Palm Beach in the next few months, but my sense is that very few well known “alternative musical artists ever make it to Miami/South Florida.

I have a friend that does a Miami Noise Fest (that has had some of my friends' bands from NY play), but i was too busy w/ school the last time to check it out. There is a DIY noise/industrial/ambient/darkwave scene here in orlando, but it is small...heck, i'd think sam rivers' old home would have a bigger free jazz/improv scene...

I was very spoiled living in NYC. There were 1 or 2 good shows every week. And the tickets were very reasonably priced.

Grew up in Miami - it has always had a small scene but people move away and not a lot of continuity
