The sound of the 60s becoming the 70s...and beyond! Late-era garage and early hard rock, with a pinch of more "modern" sounds thrown in for flavor. Fuzz, frets, riffage, and wattage. Let your hair down on WFMU's Rock And Soul Radio and get a taste of the "Hard Stuff".

Holy cow! I had "Live At Leeds" on 8-track back in the day! A chronicle of one of the first of The Who's best live performances on record! Never got tired of playing it out!

Then ...one day - I found TheWho's first album ('Sings My Generation' in the USA) - in the $1.98 CutOut bin of the music store where my mother worked ! (It may be that MCA was releasing twoLP sets of TheWho's pre-Tommy albums just then - is why it was there ?) This woulda been - I dunno - 1975 ?? ...See : I coulda been the only WhoFan in the World far as I knew ! :D & - I started with their First. & that was it. They walked right into the Musical center of my being - made residence - & have never left. Much like TheBeatles - TheWho were the perfect band to collect their Albums - as they too were dedicated to the twin gawds of Excellence & Change in their initial period. & each was a distinct Statement to take in fully on every level... (then later - BobDylan collides with one like this, for instance...)

i just play the tape until the track changes, pull it out immediately, while the splice is visible, re-glue it or replace it with regular transparent tape (meaning the tracks then have to be changed manually - no biggie).
the hardest part was opening the cartridges without ruining them; but there are videos online to show you...different labels have different methods but they're all easy once you know how.
but i don't listen to them much. i use them to make my own loops! (they *are* loops)
