I'm running a film festival 11/27 & 11/28 (lots of pressure - I have Raindance London - the most famous indies film festival supporting me, so that's a big responsibility). So, one month before the event, I hear rumors that our theater might be going bankrupt! It is the op high tech theater in Tokyo, super nice, 5 stars... I call and call and call send emails..... No one responds to me...

	4:38pm Mike Rogers: This after two years of Covid bullshit, finally I thought this year was going to be OK.... Now, all of a sudden, this! I have to decide what to do (I just cannot postpone the festival, that would be death of the festival) but I asked another theater, but they don't answer me either... WTF? Are people doing such good business they can reject business offers?

	4:43pm Mike Rogers: My staff (mostly foreigners... Do not understand Japan and want me to fight with them, but that would be totally stupid. I just have to stay calm and not get mad and raise my voice. And discuss this today with them if I can.) 1) We can't pay 500% increase.... 2) Changing theaters would be really bad 3) Not as bad as postponing

	4:47pm Mike Rogers: I do not accept government money (that's how film festivals get messed up in Japan) they government gives money then demands famous people come. Then the festival becomes not about indies filmmakers, but about famous people.

Act humble, but be decisive. So, I will ask for a pretty big discount and take a discount for half of what I asked for. Maybe do NOT use that theater again or maybe this will be the last festival.... (This shit every year (something or another) gets me down!)

That why none of them are rated in the top 200 film festivals in the world in Movie Maker magazine (isn't that amazing? The #3 market fr films in the world and no festivals in the Top 200!)
