Sadly, I imagined Potatoes and More. Let's start one. It'll be a co-op or a B corp whose profits partly go to WFMU. If it's a co-op, everyone involved must love potatoes.

Actually the Flamingos WAS a (really inventive) cover - the original 1934 song "by composer Harry Warren and lyricist Al Dubin" was already a standard. But the Flamingos really reinvented it. And Lester Bowie made us want to buy a timeshare in it and vacation there 2 weeks a year...

But eventually there could be an up-market spin-off calculated to extract cash from the fancy people... we could call it: "DΓ©lice FΓ©culent".

It is "and More" - the back section could contain other fresh local tubers. Root tubers would have to be a spin-off business, located in neighborhoods more favorable to root tubers than potatoes.

Amazing when something makes it to the museum!
My dad had an early electronic calculator from the mid '70s: wooden case, + - x / only; he didn't keep it, but the same model is now at the Smithsonian!

One of the blokes in IMA, Don Hunerberg, engineered the 1st Ramones LP & worked with Blondie Richard Hell, ESG, Liquid Liquid etc

He was a producer & ran Radio City/Plaza Studios at various times.

He did a great show with John Allen the other week

Oh no, I've just discovered that Orchid Spangiafora's 1979 LP was called "Flee Past's Ape Elf" and their 2024 album is called "Eel Asp Flaps Feet", so it's time to budget an hour with the Internet Anagram Server to figure out what they were up to

It's a good chat across the whole show, goes thru his history of working his way up the NYC recording scene (without any great ambition seemingly) & how he brought artists from assorted 'downtown' 'scenes' to 'uptown' studios etc, whilst also working on some fairly 'straight' gigs too.

Genuinely seemed a nice bloke & obviously a mate of Allen's.

L. Cohen/TVZ overlap is always high, I guess it depends on who you heard first that produces your answer.

Always better to hear the classic stuff, where you can hear the Arab/North African influence.
