Oh, I don't think there's much risk of that. Whatever happens, I think our ego will dissolve after death for sure. Something of us might survive, but one way or the other, the problem of, "Wherever you go, there you are" will be solved.

We might disperse and become parts of other entities after death. Dissolve and scatter. We might become pure thought, or become non-corporeal beings so untethered from the physical realm that we are flung far out into the universe. But I seriously doubt any ego will be involved, not as it exists now.

If they made swimming polls mandatory for each home, there would be some amount of water storage.

I am not definite but I think the reason that salt water can not be used on these fires is because the salt water will damage the soils making them difficult for the plant life to recover. It would also damage any agricultural areas.

-by a long shot, in my opinion
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
cbunny:

They indeed did use salt water as part of the effort. Look upon the Super Scooper planes from Canada. So many heroes on the teams fighting these fires.
The retardant they've used isn't that great either, lots of nitrogen.
Seriously, this has been a genuine experience, and people here are helpful and hopeful and trauma bonding on the streets.
Just an incredibly amazing effort on the part of the fire fighting teams. Logistics alone coordinating everything has been way beyond impressive.

I have been able to see the Pali Fire and smoke from my window since it started. It helps to understand that by three-four days in, an area larger than the size of Manhattan had burned. Fighting something like this has no simple answers, and neither does prevention.

I won't get political here, but yeh,
MORE SWIMMING POOLS! I live in SL and I know one person with a pool! This has to change!
Avatar 🎙 Swag For Life Member 11:20pm
Scott_Oz:

Urban City Fire Hydrants are meant for fighting point source fires with focus high pressure supply. They cannot cope with a massive fire with catastrophic weather feeding a firestorm. LA sadly, as in some Australian fires which invade urbanized communities will always burn if the fire front is large enough.

People here who live in High Fire Danger Areas are required to have there own fire control systems. Including adequate water reserves & functional pump. But more importantly building design regulations to enhance suitability.
& a fire proof "bunker" as last resort.

I heard some chucklehead was operating a drone in the fire zone and damaged the wing of a fire plane. So the plane is grounded for time being.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27pm

makes sense. I can't imagine what people who live in the zones think about the rest of the year.
I mean, insurance companies saw this coming and cancelled fire policies like four months ago.
I think most people are shortsighted, but America may just be the worst of the worst.
