New year, new schedule:

I will (finally!) be hosting a weekly show, following MHLee Friday mornings, followed by Otis Fodder, moving his show to follow mine, AND adding an hour. So a big FOUR hours of "Friendly Persuasion" every week.

I wasn't paying close attention, I thought it was Snoopy vs the Red Baron as translated.

↳ WR @1:32
Apparently not, based on the title. According to Wikipedia, there was a Spanish translation, "Snoopy contra el Barón Rojo", recorded by Los Mustang.

The pronunciation of the name is: Spy-ro-gy-ra. It's a biology term for a type of algae. I remember that from junior high science class.

Pink Floyd goes exotic! Amazing. Imagining Syd Barrett in a Hawaiian shirt, lei around his neck, as the Floyd plays a tiki bar.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm

I don't know why some folks have a problem with woodpeckers. I think they're cool. I also like the sound of blue jays.
Avatar 3:17pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Krys O. @3:14
I guess if they were drilling holes in my house, i might have a problem! But just listening to them? I agree, it's pretty cool.

We have wild parrots (speaking of jungle sounds) in my 'hood, and those babies are LOUD. I still like 'em, tho. Who can hate parrots?

Bechet's last name is pronounced: beh-SHAY

He was Creole.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm

Many houses around these parts have vinyl siding. I've seen woodpeckers on utility poles and trees.

Mr Fab:

Edgar Rice Burroughs's Tarzana Ranch is a few miles from me. it was later subdivided into the suburban neighborhood of Tarzana, which has African animal sculptures on the light posts.

The hills of Tarzana are under evacuation warning from the fires, but Burroughs' house still stands - it's in the flatlands, so should be safe. Jan, you're lucky to live in a land of no mountains!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:35pm
Herbie:

↳ Mr Fab @3:34
That's why it's called Tarzana - never knew that!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 3:37pm

These are surreal and horrifying images we're seeing from burning LA ..., Mr Fab
Avatar 3:37pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Herbie @3:35
Yep, I've visited the outside of the Burroughs house, but it's not open to the public. You'd think it would be a museum or something.
Avatar 3:39pm
Mr Fab:

↳ Jan Turkenburg @3:37
It's pretty damn surreal to be living in the midst of it!

It's like: how do we go about our everyday business? But we have to.
