My daughter in law is from Singapore. SE Asian coffee beans are prepared differently. Very tasty, but very strong coffee. I still take cream in coffee and it works for me. But I can appreciate black. I’ll probably get there too someday.

When we were in Singapore, I also tried Vietnamese coffee. That I had black. There was a wonderful attending process to making it when brought to my table. It was good. When I told someone in the States about it he started giggling. Apparently the Vietnamese bean is often treated in monkey shit! Eep eep, it was delicious anyway!

Where I live coffee machines and other water using machines are very prone to scales because of the calcium rich water. So the people often clean their coffee machines with vinegar. Smells bad but it keeps the machine clean.

I just bought a regular modern, rather generic coffee maker for the first time in over a decade. I guess I just recently warmed to the idea of having my coffee made when I get up in the morning during the work week. I think it's the least flavorful way to make coffee but I guess I am getting lazy.
Plus, it makes my weekend French press or moka pot coffees taste much better by comparison.
