I'm not sure about much of anything involving Freud, though it all fascinates me. For example, I recently made a slip of the tongue that turned out to be an exemplary Freudian blow job.

Oh, damn. I meant, Freudian slip!

Manta, pot8o, Dean, Bryan, Tom Tom, rw! Hello, gang!
  10:24pm
Dean:

I do hope to read much more of Freud than I have in my many years, among many other writers whom I regard as important despite the increasing pressure to be ideologically critical of them. Just today I was imagining rereading Doris Lessing's great work. Still need to explore more of St. Augustine. Paul Laurence Dunbar. James, Anita Brookner, Darwin, more and more of Marx, whose work I find exhilarating, Melville, Andrea Dworkin... The list goes on, but my life will not.

I haven't gotten around to Marable, but I've read tons of Said and Benjamin, even took a Comp Lit course in college on the latter.

Bradbury is such a marvelous problem for literary snobs like me. A joy to read, maybe too easy to swallow, but so often exactly on point. I have a copy of Martian Chronicles that I presented to him and he signed. I cherish it.

A poet's education is pretty simple: read. I've encountered a few really helpful works of critical reflection, but mostly I learn from reading the poets themselves.

Sam: The L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E poets are a force. Check out Ron Silliman's work.

I assume you know that the late Lyn Hejinian produced some of the finest of their work, starting with, e.g, My Life. Her husband is/was Larry Ochs of ROVA.
