Obscure musical gems, avant experimentation, and classics worth rehearing. A conurbation of Leslie speakers, timbales, plungers, arch-tops, tablas, and squeaky reeds. Black ties, pork pies, Cuban boots, Nudie suits, bobbysocks, turtlenecks, and high-heeled sneakers. Jazz is the north star but it’s a wide universe, so says The Laughing Clock.

My wife and I got married at Brooklyn Borough Hall, and had a party at our apartment. But if DJ Kim or arlo had been there, yeah, that would've been pretty great.

i am thrilled not to have had a DJ and indeed to have had only 2 guests at my wedding, in August 2020, masked and in a lovely backyard garden, presided over by my best friend

My wife and I spent the evening of our wedding at Al's Bar (one of two punk ground-zero sites in LA) east of downtown LA. Drunk Horse played, and not too long ago they played a dive bar near our Berkeley abode. We saw them again, almost 25 years later.

As a matter of fact, Los Lobos played the Olympic Auditorium c.1980, opening for Public Image. One hella fuck of a show. To boot, David Hidalgo was a patron with his kids at the public library where I worked in Whittier.

Just now listening at home to a work for "flute-playing clock" by Beethoven. It's impressive. Rises above the Haydn and even the Mozart.
