Discotech Underground is actually two...two...two shows in one!

The first half is a "Happy Hour" of sorts (because it's five o'clock somewhere, right?), spinning the kinds of sounds you might have heard at a real, authentic 1960's DISCOTECH as cool cats and swingin' chicks danced the night away in their mod threads and mini skirts to hard-driving sounds under the flashing lights! The only thing missing are the cage dancers...but we're working on it!

The second half is for when you head home after a wild night, and ease in with the heady, trippy, mind-expanding sounds of a groovy free-form UNDERGROUND rock radio station that digs deep into their library and blows your mind all over again!

It originates from the fact that the bands taht cut the records were teenagers..."punks"..! Plus a lot of the DIY ethic of the 60's records where they were self financed by the band plays into the punk ethos as well, as well as being outside the mainstream.

In that era every small town had a band that was highly regarded locally and considered something the town could boast about. Lots issued at least one 45.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:42pm

Garage is like that, also, but there are also far fewer garage records when compared to soul. For every 100 soul records, you might see one garage 45. The ratio is very lopsided.

The cheapness was the reason I had it. I needed something and I bought it from some old burnout who needed cash quickly. It sufficed for the time being.

that makes sense, but I think I would miss the very deep lows. In fact around 200 Hz is where I usually cut the most

Or else, I cut everything else around 200 Hz and leave a pocket for the bass guitar

It had plenty of bottom, just not a big blob type sound. It worked best at higher volumes because it maintained the tightness and didn't break up on the low end.

The EB-3 was the two pickup model...a harmonica sized pickup in the bridge position with a much larger neck position pick up. It was short scale, too, as my hands are very narrow and it was easier to play. Lighter, too than a P-bass or full scale size guitar.

I don't play out anymore so it's fine for plunking on around the house. I have a few vintage guitars and a 1967 Vox Royal Guardsmen amp!
