Good morning!
  9:02am Dan B From Upstate:

Wasn't it nice of the Macho Man to willingly stop his heart so that he could put a dent into God and Jesus's rapture plans?
  9:04am F0FO:

"I luv Nazi <3" -Lars
  9:04am Cheri Pi:

Ken it is 320 and I am listening to you with a cold beer! Your show works both in the morning and the afternoon - whoaaaa
  9:22am Ken:

Hey BW! Dont spill that beer of yours!
  9:23am F0FO:

Ken,

I think today's a good post-rapture day for enjoying some Melted Men goodie (but no Butter Role or Ingrowed Toenail, as those are more pre-rapture suitable).
  9:24am bw:

hey! that was only one time and we were on a MOVING train
  9:25am still b/p:

The "Tribute to Oprah's Very Big Transition Today" set....where's it at?
  9:28am Oprah:

Check under your seats, audience!!!!! It's a NEW RAPTURE!!!!!!!!
  9:28am Ken:

BW, the Train had not yet started to move and you were drunk off your add ranting and raving about the KGB and waiving your beer all over the place. I've got the youtube video to prove it.
  9:28am todd from fargo:

request: "drugs, drugs, drugs".
  9:30am fleep:

If you strike Oprah down, she shall become more
powerful than you can possibly imagine.
  9:30am todd from fargo:

i just realized i can go back in the archive and hear when you last played 'drugs, drugs, drugs'. request retracted.
  9:31am bw:

oh man - well I counter that with my youtube video of angry Russian parents ready to throw your half naked ass in the river!!!
  9:33am marq:

shouldn't there be a needle full of heroin sticking out of the devil's arm
  9:33am Rhett:

Ken: your tweet worked. It got me to tune in.
  9:33am Cecile:

Storm came out almost two decades ago...

Good morning, Ken! Can you play either Was/Not Was or some Heaven 17 in honor of the fact I got my AARP card in the mail and will be 50 next Tuesday?
  9:34am F0FO:

Todd,

Drugs requests cannot be retracted. Sorry.
  9:36am Cecile:

don't hate him because he's fat.

Maybe you should buy multiple cables. i did that for my iPod when I kept breaking them by moving them all over the place.
  9:36am Cecile:

Tonetta intones DRUGS DRUGS DRUGS
9:37am Tom ( The Bactrian Support Network ):

if I had to do it all over again .. MAC is the only choice ...
  9:37am richard c:

Ken, I believe 'winged monkeys" is TM Andy
  9:37am Aaron in JCity:

Morning All!
  9:37am coelacanth:

I volunteer for the egging... ...Can we add the non-word "app" to that list?
  9:38am still b/p:

A persistent stream of AARPy mailings will pour on you, Cecile. Make art with 'em.

Drugs, Drugs, Drugs = Comely Comfort Food
  9:38am coelacanth:

(-not because he's fat)
  9:38am marq:

yes, the fidelity is noticeable. sounds like AM radio. Would be better if it sounded like HAM radio.
  9:39am Brian in UK:

'This one goes out to....'!!!
  9:39am Cecile:

yeah sbp, my husband has been dealing with them for the last two years. Oy.
  9:39am Ken:

I dont hate Michael Dell because he's fat. He's fat because I hate him.
  9:40am Ken:

Hey Aaron! Going to the lake this weekend?
  9:40am Cecile:

coel, for me app always meant appetizer.
Until NOW
  9:41am marq:

shouldn't there be a needle sticking out of the old man clown's arm?
  9:41am Aaron in JCity:

Pretty sure we'll be bear swamp bound! On the hunt for motorcycles (used and ugly)!
  9:41am El Verboso:

I was penning an overly scripted missive while at an eponymous eatery when a staffer intoned that ken, who dons indie cred, banned my lingo.
  9:42am Cecile:

I like the Knights of the Round table with King Authored.
  9:42am blip:

Ken, where do you get your cool gifs?
  9:43am Liers Von Trar:

I'd like to add a few words on today's list.
  9:43am coelacanth:

YES,Cecile, me too.-and even then- just for print- not in conversation. People are too goddam lazy to say a 4 syllable word?
  9:43am Aaron in JCity:

@blip™ - i was gonna ask the same thing! where ken where?
  9:43am blip:

I meant neat gifs...
  9:44am Oprah:

John Wayne Gacey worked in daycare?
  9:44am Cecile:

I actually like the word app. It's snappy. But I thnik you are right and too many words are shortened and lose their beauty.
  9:46am F0FO:

I want to see a neat Gif of the squeaky microphone.
  9:46am Cecile:

I can't think of any right this second, it's early. But I watch Cooking Channel for 5 minutes and I'm screaming in pain - so many shorted words and weird portmanteaus.
  9:46am hamburger / london:

aiyeeeee! - the start of this show has been so fun! hope someone hasn't spiked my cola...
  9:47am blip:

I always hated the word "veggies"...
  9:48am Cecile:

yeah, blip, I dont' like that one.
  9:49am Lizardner Dave:

@Cecile - that's because most of the Cooking Channel's shows are from Food Network Canada and Canadians talk funny. Sometimes all French-like.
  9:49am moose:

worse is just 'veg' with that soft g at the end
  9:49am Ken:

Yes, I'm with you on Veggies! And also: "Impact" as a verb. FUCK Impact as a Verb... Thanks for Sharing! That too.
  9:50am Azam:

Chillax...or 'architect' as a verb...
  9:51am fleep:

Juego frío
  9:51am Handsome Harry:

I wonder if Andrew Loog Oldham got a piece of this one, too.
  9:52am Lizardner Dave:

Don't hate the word. Hate the speaker.
  9:52am kirsten dunst:

I don wfmu
  9:52am trish:

I like the word 'wrench'. Noun or verb. It's got that mysterious and inaudible 'w' - like it's about to do something and it's gonna be good.
  9:53am marq:

ever notice how upper class, like old money rich, tend to shorten words like the fam,, instead of family.
  9:53am Mark:

ooo's fighting and wot for?
  9:53am Bose 901:

What'd I ever do to you?
  9:54am r i s k y:

COOL OUT!!!
  9:54am ceedubbles:

unless you speak cockney in which case it's heard a "weransche"
  9:54am coelacanth:

well,Cecile. Coming from me who often shortens words HERE because i'm such a slow typer...I'm all for the evolution of language- but for the right reasons.(as,necessity,or a new invention)but in the usa -aside from new computer & digital terminology-it's usually due to laziness or ignorance(which is because of laziness, usually)
  9:55am Cecile:

No, the Canadians are lovely. Just lovely. I adore Bal who does the Indian cooking show and Chuck Hughes. It's the US made shows that tick me off.
  9:55am blip:

"Hey what kind of Veggies do you want on your Za?"
  9:56am trish:

As in wrench : This music has taken a wrench to my recent nostalgic musical wanderings. Glad for it, too.
  9:56am marq:

what about fmu instead of wfmu.
  9:56am coelacanth:

CHILLAX!!...GUESTIMATION!...i just got used to"veggies".
  9:57am moose:

and ZA is permitted in Scrabble now- an abomination!

(this is the best thing the Stones have ever 'done')
  9:58am F0FO:

I wake up in the morning and wfmu all day.
I go to the toilet while wfmuing.
I was wfmuing Ken the other day.
  9:58am blip:

"What kind of Veggies would you like on your Sammy?" Ok, I'll stop.
  9:58am Cecile:

You know, my husband never thought much of the Stones until he saw the scene in Gimme Shelter where the band is godsmacked with grief hearing about the deaths. He goes "I'm not a fan, but I have to give them credit for showing such a raw moment."

Moose, the only way I like za is in Scrabble. TRIPLE WORD SCORE BIYOTCH!
  9:58am coelacanth:

yeh, marq. rich people are JUST-too-BUSY to botha.
  9:59am Mark:

I want to know why in Gimme Shelter when Mick Jagger says "fuck" it is obscured by a guitar chord, but when Keith Richards and others say fuck it is not obscured
  10:00am Robert:

I don't like "veggies" either, but I don't mind "veg." if you pronounce it with a hard "g". "Staffer", and "staff" as a verb, though, I like perfectly well.
  10:02am Robert:

I tried to replace "meritocracy" in a friend's ms., but we couldn't cowith a mutually acceptable substitute.
  10:02am F0FO:

I also don't like veggies. I prefer meat and ice cream.
  10:05am Robert:

One I really dislike that's caught on in the past decade is to start a sentence with "So" for no good reason. Like someone being interviewed by Brian Lehrer will just answer a question starting that way, and it makes no sense, it's just a superfluous word, having none of the sense of "therefore" or anything.
  10:06am Lizardner Dave:

I'm beginning to think this whole comments stream is lifted from Jon Wurster's Twitter feed (WordHate).
  10:06am F0FO:

Robert,

So be it.
  10:08am ceedubbles:

Hummina hummina humminaHummina hummina humminaHummina hummina hummina
  10:08am Brian in UK:

The registration of Paul Le Mats car in American Graffitti was THX 138. WOW.
  10:09am bw:

the conference call #!!!
  10:09am moose:

I heartily agree with Robert's opinion of the SO beginning
EVERYBODY on wnyc does it
  10:09am still b/p:

When the French ice cream truck comes around on a hot day, get yourself a cherry pop de siecle.
  10:10am Robert:

That's OK, FOFO, because it carries the sense of "Thus" as in "that way".
  10:10am Brian in UK:

Sisyphus symbolism.
  10:11am Cecile:

Cuba Gooding Jr's dad was in this group.
  10:12am marq:

strange. about 5:30 this morning I had a kind of nightmare. I was watching some people put up an embankment near the ocean and it fell on the people and I woke up.
  10:12am Robert:

How's that for a shortening -- my "come up with" came out as "cowith".
  10:12am Michele:

It makes me throw up a little in my mouth when grown men refer to sandwiches as "sammies" or "Sammich". Although I do not mind the word Manwich at all.
  10:12am Robert:

How's Crisco for a shortening, while we're at it?
  10:13am F0FO:

If I had a chance to choose the producer of my nightmare's soundtracks I'll definitely pick up Kenny G.
  10:13am Lizardner Dave:

I just saw a sports phrase that I hate - "Walk-off" as in "Walk off home run". They never called them that when I was young, so therefore it must be wrong!
  10:14am Mama's Little Baby:

LOVE the bread!
  10:15am Lizardner Dave:

And for food-related word shortenings, "Canola oil" pisses me off. Call it rapeseed like they do in Europe, dammit. Canola = "Canadian Low Acid Oil" and is just a marketing term. ARRRRGGGH!
  10:15am F0FO:

..and I wasn't referring myself to Kenneth Goldsmith.
  10:15am Robert:

For a long time I resisted the football term "sack" when it became popular 40 yrs. ago, but lately I've softened on it.
  10:15am coelacanth:

SO...i'm such a geek. i want to look up Jon Wurster, and "za"-'never heard that ...and i still dont know what "twitter"is.But i dont care.
  10:15am carol:

Hey, say, wait a minute Where you going with that suitcase Wait a minute, listen Alright, well, you don`t have To answer

You Don't Have To Answer - funny best line
  10:17am Robert:

Yeah, but "kiwi fruit" and some recent name for a good eating fish I forgot, I don't mind.
  10:20am Goyim in the AM:

Station 17, ESG's lawyer is on the phone...
  10:21am Robert:

I dislike the football terms "quarterback", "halfback", "fullback", and "tailback" when they have no reference to the depth at which the back is positioned. I don't mind more descriptive terms like "running back" at all, though. They rationalized the names of positions on defense decades ago with "linebacker" and "cornerback", so it's time to do that with the offense too.
  10:22am Robert:

It bugs me that "mainframe" changed meaning from the PART of computer (as opposed to peripherals) to now refer to a SIZE of computer.
  10:23am Mark:

viva le krautrock
  10:23am Daniel:

I hate this beating soundtrack by the way. It's not even weird, it's just sick.
  10:23am Mark:

or is it "la"?
  10:24am knaster:

I need some sauerkraut NOW! Greetings from Sweden
  10:24am Elisa:

The heart has jaws it seems....love has teeth.
  10:26am jtm:

I also hate people who cant spell "criticism."
  10:26am helsingfred:

finland, finland...
  10:29am blip:

@ jtm: "don't hate"
  10:29am F0FO:

Ken,
HARTE 10, all the way!
  10:31am blip:

@ jtm: nevermind - their credibility is shot anyway, due to their bad spelling
  10:32am Aaron in JCity:

ken - you hitting the oso de marisma this weekend?
  10:32am Cecile:

F0F0, huge yeah on Harte 10.
  10:35am Frank in VT:

OMG, my 8yr old son has that robot. I think I have to hide it now.
  10:35am Cecile:

YESSSSSSSSSS
  10:35am Ken:

Oso de Marisma?
  10:37am F0FO:

wo-hooo
  10:37am Ken:

I am gonna spend the week covered in mud and water and I cant wait. Im gonna go find Hornbeck Creek and take a boogie board down the falls and Im gonna mud wrestle Harry and get my boat in the water. I hope i hope.
  10:39am Robert:

Yay, Ken! Where is that, in Mich.?
  10:40am blip:

hey that dancing robot/man is in sync with this song...
  10:46am Robert:

I'd recommend my bubble bath, but unfortunately no type of tub bathing is good for mud removal. What you need for that is a shower with plenty of water and an uncompromised drain. Or just step into the water stream slowly to avoid getting too much mud going thru the drain at once.
  10:48am still b/p:

It was the You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch guy singing about Paul Bunyan.
  10:49am Robert:

Soap doesn't do anything for mud removal either.
  10:50am F0FO:

Old segway song is old.
  10:50am trish:

Drain? Soap? Why not follow the path of the boat and into the presumed body of water?
  10:51am Robert:

Well, yeah, if you can manage to do things in that order! But Ken will probably get muddy LAST.
  10:52am trish:

No water, no mud.
  10:53am Robert:

My experience with mud comes mostly from one spring of rugby ~25 yrs. ago where it rained every Fri. or Sat. for weeks.
  10:54am trish:

Oh. I mostly know wetland mud.
  10:55am still b/p:

Can we call the tribulation the "trib?"
  10:56am Robert:

Ken, the Family stations SOLD TIME for AFTER 5/21/11, even infomercials for books touting prevention of CHRONIC DISEASES!
  10:56am F0FO:

Ken,
Did they sent you the rapture sticker?
  10:56am John McCabe in L.A.:

cool I like the new zoom in thing for the pics on the track listing nice touch
  10:58am Robert:

As to the mud, that spring if we didn't get muddy enough playing, we took running slides in it after the game.
  11:00am Lizardner Dave:

I tuned in to the NJ family radio outlet at about 10 after 6 on Saturday and they had a guy touting a Christian diet and fitness book. Not only do you need to eat right and exercise kids, you have to be right with God. That's why all those athletic guys who die young die - they're in shape but they're not "right with God". That's what the guy said. With a straight face, I think.
  11:00am F0FO:

I like this Zatumba mix cover song.
  11:02am Ken:

Robert - Hornbeck Creek is in Pennsylvania. GHreat white water rafting location and the rivers running fast right now.
  11:02am Robert:

I chose to listen at just that time to WFME too. Note that heart disease takes a LONG TIME to develop.
  11:03am trish:

In the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy, you can find vertical slides of mud when the tide is out.
  11:03am ceedubbles:

careful Ken http://boatertalk.com/forum/BoaterTalk/153340
  11:03am Robert:

Thanks, Ken. I'd tried Google mapping it to no avail. I know there's a lot of that in NE PA. Have fun.
  11:04am Ricardo Montalban:

Great show, Ken. Enjoying it all the way from Vancouver Washington (sad little burg North of Portland OR).
  11:06am Ken:

Robert - I know, it's great! All these areas in Pike County PA aint even barely on google maps!
  11:07am Robert:

The other thing that area is great for is fireworks.
  11:08am Google 360 Cam Trucks:

We'll out y'all pretty soon. You can run, but you can't hide from us.
  11:09am Robert:

I prefer to make my own, but even for that there's a NE PA cx: American Fireworkis News is published from Dingman's Ferry.
  11:10am Robert:

On the way there or back, if you take Route 206, try to arrange a stop at Ricky Buscarino's place, Luna Parc. Have you taken the virtual tour?
  11:12am Ken:

Yeah, I've been to Luna Parc a few times (Montague,. NJ) - it;s absolutely amazing! Everybody should go! At the same time.
  11:14am Cheri Pi:

Yes-CRASH!!!!! love this so ng, it gives me goosebumps/
  11:14am Robert:

Have you been to the Chatter Box diner at Ross Corner when the bikers are there?
  11:14am Carmichael:

Oh yeah, hi everyone. Just enjoying the GIFs. That chewing nazi is becoming a standard, Ken.
  11:15am F0FO:

Cheri Pi

I know, can't rip it from anywhere thou. :/
  11:20am Ken:

I know Carmichael - when I type "chewing nazi" into my picture database, only one thing comes up! I think it's broken.
  11:21am F0FO:

Obama must be somewhere around me, nearby. Is Kenny G coming with him? Cuz' I just saw loads of police officers near Grovesnor Square, London.
  11:22am Obama:

God save the queen,
She's not a human being
  11:26am listener mark:

  11:28am Aaron in JCity:

Oso de Marisma - i think its spanish for bear swamp - i think - im probably wrong
  11:28am F0FO:

Animated gifs are the new short films.
  11:29am Short Attention Span Theater:

4 seconds is the new 25 minutes.
  11:32am F0FO:

Oso de Marisma doesn't make sense nor has meaning in spanish. Perhaps was a disguised request to play an obscure band from the darkests depths of the WFMU archive.
  11:33am BSI:

Chewing nazi is the new cupcake dog?
  11:33am BSI:

NAY! Cupcake Dog lives forever...

  11:34am -max-:

Loving the loons!
  11:35am Carmichael:

I can see those whistling singing Nazis doing the can-can right now. Because they are.
  11:37am PMD:

Dick Cavett is upset that you are more excited about Alice than him.
  11:38am Gambling Man:

What's the over0under for the exact time when Cavett bails on 7SD?
  11:38am Buck Henry:

Even faster than me, I bet
  11:40am Michael:

David Peel is the best anti-drugs propaganda I've ever heard. He is very likely exactly what Andy thinks an "hippie" should be.
  11:41am Dick Cavett's Booker:

He thought it was an Imus appearance. Sorry.
  11:46am listener mark:

They told Dick Cavett that they'll be going to Groucho Marx's house.
  11:48am Ricardo Montalban:

Ah, I never thought to look for that delightful music in Tati movies!
  11:49am Neg-guh-tor:

Won't be able to make the show next week. I'm "hiking the Appalachian Trail" ;)
  11:49am Ricardo Montalban:

RE: Cavett: Isn't the entire Algonquin Roundtable dead now?
Also, will he moon-walk into the interview?
  11:50am Dick Cavett's Booker:

If you have Andy wear one of those Groucho moustaches and crack good zingers, I'll get him to come.
  11:52am Andy in Nova Scotia:

Hooray!!! Huuuuuuummmpaaaaaa!
  11:52am paul:

when its time to humpaa we will humpaa hard!
  11:54am Handsome Harry:

Great show today. Giddie-up.
  12:00pm Rev. Camping:

Get a grip, dude. It's not like it's the end of the world or anything.
  12:01pm Carmichael:

Thanks for all the Nazis, Ken!
  12:01pm F0FO:

thanks and bye everybody!
  3:13pm Nathan:

You're killing me Ken... Killing me softly with your songs.
Avatar 12:30pm Falcoa:

  11:22am Joey:
