September 1, 2011: Guest: Gabriel Alvarez of Ego Trip
Ego Trip was one of the best hip-hop magazines to emerge from NYC in the 1990's. It lasted four years and then the staff (Sacha Jenkins, Elliott Wilson, Jefferson "Chairman" Mao, Gabriel Alvarez & designer Brent Rollins) focused on various other media outlets. They released two books: "Book of Rap Lists" & "Big Book of Racism!", and produced several TV shows: "TV's Illest Minority Moments", "Race-O-Rama!" and "The (White) Rapper Show." Gabriel Alvarez will swing by to represent "the arrogant voice of musical truth."
