Listener comments!

  12:16am
Brian in UK:

Morning Joe, up early to watch Moto GP & listen. You are not alone!
  12:17am
12539:

Present and accounted for.
  12:18am
Joe McG:

Hey, Brian! Good to hear from you so early! I don't know what Moto GP is, though. Motocross? Hey, 12539, welcome!
  12:21am
Joe McG:

Hope you folks don't mind the James...I can't stop!
  12:22am
Brian in UK:

Bike racing on track. Serious JB action.
  12:28am
Joe McG:

Thanks, Brian, I had no idea....I'm thinking that commenters might be a little timid this evening because of that fundraising bar. But people shouldn't worry about it. Feel free to say hello.
  12:35am
212:

Moto GP ...Super bike races...25 laps of pure excitement...Valentino Rossi is God in Europe
  12:37am
Joe McG:

With a name like Valentino, he'd probably be a god if he were serving gelati.
  12:41am
Brian in UK:

The best racing at present is in the 125cc & Moto 2 classes. The 800cc is less exciting this year. Casey Stoner (great name) seems to have it sown up.
  12:44am
212:

Rossi is so good!!! I hate watching him...I remember a race where he lagged in 2nd all the way until the last lap...I don't know what makes him so good! Hayden is now with Ducatti...My dream super bike...My dream bike is a Bonneville...Gatewood green if you are shopping Brian...
  12:47am
kiemzi:

first! maybe!
  12:47am
212:

Donnigton abut 5 or 6 years ago...Have that one on tape...Black sheets of rain...Very good race!
  12:49am
Joe McG:

Hey hey kiemzi-ay!
  12:51am
kiemzi:

hey joe! enjoying the show!
  12:53am
Joe McG:

@kiemzi: Thanks! I'm rockin' the second percentile already, so it's all cream from here on.
  12:53am
joe:

Joe this is great. Just what I need stuck in the office trying to migrate data from one system to another before a go live date on Monday and this is just what the doctor ordered (well that and some sleep )
  12:55am
Joe McG:

@joe: Thanks, man, glad you're diggin' it. Great name, btw.
  1:04am
Matt from Springfield:

Hi Joe!
  1:05am
Joe McG:

Hey, Matt! How's it going for you this evenin'?
  1:05am
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

Good morning everyone!
  1:07am
Joe McG:

Hey, Yair Yona! Loved your set on Irene's show when you were in town! Sorry I wasn't here to meet you.
  1:07am
Matt from Springfield:

Going nicely, thanks. I tried absinthe for the first time earlier this evening--kinda nice, but I was underwhelmed. Don't let people build up the idea of absinthe unrealistically high!
  1:08am
Matt from Springfield:

Great soul tonight!
Is there an emergency marathon going on?
  1:10am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Sort of. We're doing mail and on-line only fundraising this month. Kind of a new approach--quiet and stealth-like. No on-air pitching, though.
  1:11am
Matt from Springfield:

Yair Yona, I did catch your set as well! The station was cool to give you airtime--I heard some mighty fine guitaring from you! Nice interview as well.
  1:11am
Brian in UK:

Moto 2 race just finished, Marc Marquez 18 year old Spaniard is the name to watch in the future. Todays race is held in Japan 100km from THAT reactor.
  1:13am
Matt from Springfield:

And Sylvia--I heard the news on Fabio/Clays show. RIP, Sylvia of Mickey & Sylvia, Sylvia of Sugar Hill Records, Sylvia of the eargasmatic music of the 70s that makes Joe McG wanna groove!
  1:16am
T-Zero:

Costume sounds like something from Barbarella lol
  1:19am
Brian in UK:

Could you post the lyrics, Joe!
  1:20am
Joe McG:

@T-Zero: Yeah, like Barbarella!
  1:20am
Matt from Springfield:

Purest rock and roll, distilled into a single track!
  1:20am
Joe McG:

@Brian: No problem: OH BABY OH BABY OH BABY....
  1:23am
Matt from Springfield:

Besides his weird humour, Andy had great concepts in his comedy. I like the tune of "I Trusted You", but also think it's a good lesson in all you really need to do to rock out!
  1:23am
Matt from Springfield:

Kind of like The Nova Convention for the Mass-Market audience :)
  1:25am
Joe McG:

I trusted you!
  1:28am
T-Zero:

This Cramps version always makes me laugh
  1:29am
Joe McG:

@T-Zero: I love how Ivy shouts in the background at the end of each line in the verse.
  1:32am
T-Zero:

So, this set is dedicated to simple song structures with overdone production?
  1:33am
Brian in UK:

Joe. The Sarah Vaughan & Clifford Brown CD arrived.

T-Zero. Still 2C in your manor.
  1:35am
T-Zero:

Pretty much, Brian. Currently 6c and drizzled all day again.
  1:37am
T-Zero:

3c with the breeze ;-)
  1:37am
Joe McG:

@Brian: Excellent, I know you'll enjoy it. Thanks in advance for sending out that CD....
  1:37am
Matt from Springfield:

Irwin is a CONTRARIAN! Hmmph!
At least a whole week of (almost!) everyone else playing only singles helps out our "average" for the rest of the year! :D
  1:38am
Joe McG:

Now, Matt, HOW did you know who I was talking about? :)
  1:41am
Matt from Springfield:

Because I remember him making a big deal about not being in the herd!

The proto-rap "I Gotcha" by Joe Tex.
  1:43am
Matt from Springfield:

Oh Lord, it's Millie! Is this the one where she speaks of the "whole damn county" burnin' down? :)
  1:44am
Joe McG:

@Matt: No, this is the one where she talks about "All My Children." My tribute to the end of that fine program.
  1:46am
Matt from Springfield:

Yeah, this one is different. New to me! The sound of the beginning kinda reminds me of the other one.
  1:46am
T-Zero:

Too bad this isn't a web only broadcast ;)
  1:47am
joe:

No she didn't
  1:47am
Mike Sin:

You hear this, women? Don't mess up my curls!
  1:48am
Joe McG:

Hey, Mike Sin! Better sing "Don't Mess with Me" at 'em!
  1:52am
Mike Sin:

Does "It's Been A Drag" sound a bit like a precursor to Same Cooke's "A Change is Gonna Come"?
  1:54am
T-Zero:

That's one of my favorites (Change)
  1:55am
Brian in UK:

Scott Williams has just scored a try for Wales in the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. That man is talented.
  1:56am
Joe McG:

@Brian: Wow, and he'll be back on Monday to do a radio show. Amazing!
  1:57am
Matt from Springfield:

Like this Weekend. I like every weekend, but the band Weekend has a great sound.
  2:00am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Yes, Alison from Young Marble Giants and friends.
  2:03am
Brian in UK:

@212 Rossi off at the first corner
  2:12am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Steve Gunn!!
  2:16am
Joe McG:

@Yair: Yes, don't forget to tune in, it's a great session.
  2:16am
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

@Matt - thanks so much!
@Joe - thanks, and wha a great show!. I went jogging on the beach while listening to the show in the last hour, it made that task much much better. And yea, Sunshine Band w/o KC. no doubt.
  2:17am
Joe McG:

@Yair: How cool! I like imagining people jogging to my show! Now if only I can start to jog to my show, I'll be more fit.
  2:19am
Matt from Springfield:

This is a GREAT comp--keep playing it!
  2:19am
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

(it was the first time in a year, so don't think I'm into that kind of activity so early in the morning. just that I have a new dimension under my chin and it gets annoying ;) )
  2:21am
Joe McG:

@Matt: Will do, Matt! @Yair: I love the idea of a new dimension under the chin. I think I could have a new universe opening up above my waistline, too, if I don't get a bit careful.
  2:47am
yair yona (tel aviv, Earth):

that's a new Tompkins Square release?
  2:49am
Brian in UK:

Can I get a witness? I feel brand new.
  2:49am
Joe McG:

@Yair: Yep, brandie-new!
  2:52am
Brian in UK:

Well Joe, gone the distance, suns up. Some great racing & music. Time for breakfast.
  2:55am
Joe McG:

@Brian: Great to have you along for the ride! Enjoy your Wheatabix.
  2:56am
T-Zero:

Take care Brian. Enjoy your warmth.
  2:56am
Matt from Springfield:

Bobby Womack! Great note to end on!
  2:56am
Joe McG:

Have a great week, Matt, and everybody!
  2:57am
yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Earth):

Joe, great selections man. That's a great wrrk opener
  2:57am
Brian in UK:

Thanks folks. Gonna walk the dog, guess what I'll be singing.
  2:58am
T-Zero:

Who let dos out ;-)
  3:00am
T-Zero:

err dogs out
