Morning, Brian UK. Funny story for you... When I was little grandparents had chickens and always left one egg in the nest to get the hens to lay there and not out in the yard.. An aunt didn't know this and collected the egg on Thanksgiving for grandmother to use... Needless to say, when cracked the rotten egg exploded and the place smelled like sulfur all Thanksgiving day... Have never forgotten that lol

The term was devised if that is the right word by some knowledgable people in record industry in a pub in North London. I believe in the 80s.

Sorry, why do we need to give everything a title, it's like poor reviewers who have constantly to compare a group they are reviewing usually with The Beach Boys due to lack of imagination.

I don't know what "world" music even means. Music is either indigenous eastern, western, or western-fusion... still US-centric though, as it generally takes US roots rock as a starting point.

Looms you have Anglo & Franco West Africa for a start. They sit quite happily side by side without being told what they are to the outside world. It is just whiteys need.

Oddly, I've not had a problem with "world fusion", as that seems to indicate a fusion of multiple genres and styles from disparate cultural influences... It's the term "world music" by itself I find meaningless.
