	3:47pm Droll: @kat330, Listening to Bryce's show you'd think he couldn't carry a tune in a dump truck, but I saw him myself: he's a monster on drums, competent on keys (including a passible accordion), and turned in a worthy trumpet attempt. No singing, that might have ruined the clean sweep.

	3:55pm G: Most of us would have to substitute, as Bryce did, falsetto for Orbison's upper range. That is no easy song to sing.

	4:08pm Jennique: Funny, when I went on a trip to Kenya, the local entertainers in my hotel sang The Gambler by Kenny Rogers. All I could think was, "They think we LIKE this song?"

	4:09pm Caryn: When I think of Wales, Black Adder's explanation always sticks with me: "It's a ghastly place. Huge gangs of tough, sinewy men roam the Valleys, terrorizing people with their close-harmony singing." Man, he's right about the singing. Which is lovely.
	4:11pm kat330: And his forehead that's a sixhead. When I watched it originally, I think I only saw it on a B&W tv, so seeing those eyes in color now...
	4:15pm Andrew Waterloo: I love the Prison, particularly the way in which it gets more an more peculiar as the series progressed.

	4:16pm Caryn: @kat: While it's an episode that makes a lot of really good points, it's not one of my all-time favourites, though. Of course, there were no bad episodes, just really good and excellent ones. (My faves: "The General", "Hammer into Anvil", "Checkmate" and "Fall Out") BTW, if you can dig up a copy, I would highly recommend the movie "Kings and Desperate Men", which reunites McGoohan with his Prisoner co-star Alexis Kanner.

	4:18pm Jennique: Kenya was great. Went down into Tanzania & Zanzibar. Saw "the big 5" and many more critters. Would go back in a heartbeat.
	4:19pm kat330: @P.McG: Yes, well, one of the first rumors I heard when I moved to Hollywood was that you are (were) a woman beater. Just talking about the eyes and the imagination.
	4:19pm Caryn: Portmeirion is one of the places I've always kind of wanted to live. Totally nutty place. In real life, the tourists would probably get on my nerves fast. But I'd probably end up trying to mess with them by speaking in Prisoner lines all the time. But then again, they'd probably love that. Damn!

	4:20pm rrg: There was also a peculiar episode of "Danger Man" that appeared a few years before "The Prisoner" and has some similarities to it--enough that people have speculated that it spawned the idea for "The Prisoner" in McGoohan's mind.

	4:23pm Pedestrian: The Danielson reminded me of the documentary about them (the song appears in the movie, and even the trailer). Lots of fun, even though it never quite comes to a conclusion. Not up there with "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" but worth a look.

	4:24pm Jennique: From wikipedia - The phrase Big Five game was coined by white hunters and refers to the five most difficult animals in Africa to hunt on foot. The term is still used in most tourist and wildlife guides that discuss African wildlife safaris. The collection consists of the lion, African elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. They were chosen for the difficulty in hunting them and the degree of danger involved, rather than their size.

Not many people know that this title is taken by the buffalo, it'll charge at you for no reason and more people are killed by it than any other animal. If you exclude the mosquito!

Of course, there were no bad episodes, just really good and excellent ones. (My faves: "The General", "Hammer into Anvil", "Checkmate" and "Fall Out") BTW, if you can dig up a copy, I would highly recommend the movie "Kings and Desperate Men", which reunites McGoohan with his Prisoner co-star Alexis Kanner.

But I'd probably end up trying to mess with them by speaking in Prisoner lines all the time. But then again, they'd probably love that. Damn!

The term is still used in most tourist and wildlife guides that discuss African wildlife safaris. The collection consists of the lion, African elephant, cape buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros. They were chosen for the difficulty in hunting them and the degree of danger involved, rather than their size.
