Listener comments!

Mike East:

Aerial View's starting a band?? Can I play bass?
  6:18pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I was flipping through Sirius satellite channels on the way home the other night and there was Chris T.
  6:18pm
Dan:

Everytime I walk past the wall of speaker cabinets in my garage I think "I should start a new band!", then I remember how hard it is to get 4 30something year old people to meet in the same room once a week for a few hours.
  6:23pm
Mike East:

@Dan - its not easy. There's a group of dudes who have to be in their 40's/50's who come to our studio every week to play Dead covers. They say it is the highlight of their week.
  6:23pm
seang:

Hasil Adkins! one-man band
  6:23pm
kata:

here's a con for joining a band: everyone has their emotional baggage, and it call comes out when you play music with people, like a disfunctional family. When I was in bands, I made sure to make music on my own too to stay sane.
  6:24pm
Shawn:

The Jungle Creeps!
  6:26pm
kata:

"all" not call.
  6:27pm
kata:

the pro is: there's nothing like it ! I miss it alot actually ! The highs are higher than playing solo, but the lows are lower. It's a trade off !

Mark T in VT:

Does a band need to be musical? How about joining or forming a talk band. Since you are good at talk radio. Get together with 3 other people and do a talk band.
  6:35pm
seang:

this ain't me calling
  6:39pm
glenn:

call it - rush limbaugh and the dittoheads.
  6:41pm
Droll:

By definition of being in a band means making compromises. There are so few perks for bands today, there aren't enough reasons to put up with 2-5 other people's crap. In contrast to that, you can record yourself at home on a laptop using the same software tools the megabucks guys use, and you can really get that specific sound that's in your head.
  6:43pm
glenn:

yeah, but you can't go drinking with protools.
  6:44pm
seang:

cajun style
  6:46pm
DPCD:

Hey glenn! That's not a bad name and you are right about protools. My geek kid took a high school course where they learned it, and he had even less friends when it was over. What was the point, then? And have you had any real winter up in Canada? We sure haven't.
  6:48pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Winter has been really weird this year. Half the cold-weather warnings and I think half of those were only because it's been so mild and nobody is prepared.
  6:52pm
glenn:

actually, yesterday was the coldest day of the winter. no snow to speak of.
  6:56pm
DPCD:

Hope pond hockey isn't a distant memory. It will never happen here in my lifetime the way things look now.
