Train Day is May 12th. Amtrak is holding a day of activities and fun at Grand Central in NYC, 30th street station Phily, Chicago and L.A. You can also sign up to have your own party/event at a station near you.

  4:26pm
northguineahills:

Going to have to listen to the archive. I need to go outside while it's still daylight. love the Francisco Lopez, good sounds to get shit done by (in my universe).
  4:31pm
Droll:

I'm tuning in late to hear a needle stuck in the run-out groove thinking I missed the whole song. No -- that IS the song. The failure of tuning in late...
  4:41pm
vanya:

yeah, man, it`s not that tra-la-la bullshit you`d normally hear :
  4:43pm
ERD:

Thanks so much for this show today . . .great to the music and the conversation

vanya:

  4:55pm
Cecile:

wow. Just like when the locusts breed. And they still do sometimes in the Midwest.
  5:04pm
Cecile:

what about an art installation tour to fund the research?

Or contacting someone at the National Geographic channel or PBS in the States?
  5:09pm
Lulu:

this sounds so cool
  5:17pm
Snortley:

Over 300 recordings? Because he likes doing it?
That's like the Groucho quip when his guest said she had something like 10 children. Something like this:

Guest: What can I say? I love my husband!
Groucho: I like my cigar, but sometimes I take it out of my mouth.
  5:18pm
kat330:

Yes, sounds like our backyard on a hot August eve.
  5:19pm
?:

The track that brought me online was "Your DJ Speaks" -- Fabio, is this what you sound like?
  5:20pm
anne:

i am quite loving this
  5:22pm
tomasz.:

  5:22pm
Carmichael:

I'm feeling a little hinky. Maybe I should go get a can of Raid.
  5:23pm
Cecile:

what about a ballet? not all the music, but part of it could be really arresting.
  5:23pm
dale:

my cats are fine but you're scaring the crap out of me - i'm allergic to bees
  5:24pm
George of Troy:

Anyone who has the opportunity to see Francisco at IPR shouldn't pass on the chance to do so. I had the good fortune to see him at EMPAC here in Troy last year, and it was an amazing, immersive experience.
  5:36pm
Cecile:

OH. Kickstarter.
  5:39pm
jeff-m:

Thanks to you two. This has totally made my day! Looking forward to Sunday night.
  5:40pm
Cecile:

and seriously, if you put some tropical flowers on the CD and some cheap script lettering, you could sell the ambient recordings as New Age soundscapes. I listen to a nature sounds channel on Last Fm, and many of the recordings are not that far off from Francisco's.
  5:47pm
Matt from Springfield:

@dale: Did one of those earlier Francisco tracks have bee sounds or something?
  5:50pm
Matt from Springfield:

Hello? Anyone still here? Or does the ambient sounds indicate a realm of perpetual stasis here on the comments? :)
  5:51pm
Buy Gedord:

Bees maybe. Or something absolutely.
  5:53pm
Carmichael:

Uhmh ... What??
  5:53pm
Marmalade kitty:

Hello!
  5:54pm
Matt from Springfield:

Kitty! Hello!
And hello Carm! Finally thawed from the stasis? ;)
  5:54pm
