Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

That's it for another edition of The Dusty Show. I hope you enjoyed it. I had a good time getting out of the city and talking to people in a rural setting. Though I might not have seen eye-to-eye with some of the interview subjects, they seemed to be good people who were empathetic and concerned for their fellow man. Salt of the Earth. It looks like The Dusty Show has been renewed for the Summer Season, which is exciting news for me. I believe I am in my sixth year with the show on WFMU, though that hardly seems possible. Time surely flies, doesn't it? YES! I hope you are still enjoying the show's format. I have dialed back on the OWS coverage a bit, electing to give it more airtime when bigger things are happening. I worry a little that I have become to formulaic with these shows - that I ask too many of the same questions each week. This is something that can happen when you do a program over a long period ... without meaning to, it can become ritualistic and assume its own form without it being the intention of the broadcaster. I will strive to keep it fresh and to try new things as the weeks pass. Please share your thoughts with me on what you like and don't like about the show. I can take it! dusty@wfmu.org Musically, it would be easy for me to play my favorite songs, or, to play stuff that's more readily accessible for the listeners. However, I have kind of enjoyed picking out flea market records that I have little knowledge of and sharing them with you. That way we are both hearing something we aren't familiar with. Again... thoughts? I hope you continue to listen to The Dusty Show when you can. It is a lot of work putting these highly-edited shows together. Of course, it's also a privilige to have the broadcast freedom that WFMU affords a DJ. Lots of fun. I appreciate your continued support and loyalty. Take care and, until next time my friend ...
