We've got three hours to raise $310 to get D:O RADIO to 100% of its goal. It's imperative that Give the Drummer Radio reaches the goal collectively, so success begins right here and now with THIS SHOW. Pitch in and help out!
Glad to hear we're the only ones cutting out.
WELCOME TO THE PERFECT RADIO STORM, LISTENER JAMES, DOUG, DUKE, RICHARD FROM VENEZUELA, and SANDY. Safety in numbers...

When the going gets tough, the tough get going to Pittsburgh.

i sent my clients notes saying i might be off the grid for a few days. one of them is on her honeymoon. i sent her the edited chapters of the book i was copyediting for her as a gift in case the power/internet outage extends. she'll get more use out of the chapters than another bloody place setting from the registry.
12:18pm
Doug S.:
Bloody place settings? You have some gnarly clients, Listener James!
I'm sure the new husband will appreciate the gesture, LJfW.

Doug S.:
We have to raise $310 during this show. If everyone listening ponied up just $10 right now, we be on easy street. Please give a hand. WFMU is counting on you.
PLEDGE ALERT...PLEDGE ALERT...
Thanks to bgporter in Fanwood for adding some kibble to the kitty! Meow!

Gotta bring my plants inside that are small enough to fit through the window. Unfortunately, my Mexican sunflowers are too big and they've already been thrashed by the wind.
I can guarantee you that most radio shows on public radio that play adventuresome music like this — the few shows that really do — I can guarantee you that most would be dumbing down their content during fundraising time. Playing pretty, melodic, familiar tunes instead of plowing ahead magnificently like D:O RADIO is doing. Please reward this fabulous and courageous show! Make a contribution to WFMU using the pledge box above. D:O it now. Thank you!
[Haven't rebuffered once here, Jeff. I think maybe Sandy is pulling your chain a bit.]

Nice, some old-school David Ware!

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG, one of my favaorite Tschicai pieces!
Woo -- this set's for you, northguineahills! We wrote to the label for this one and they responded with this, and two other Treader releases they just threw in! You will hear them soon enough...!
Sandy, shmandy. Not having D:O RADIO would be a true disaster. (Maybe not a "toxic shitstorm," like New York Magazine called the overflow of the Gowanus Canal, but pretty awful.)
We really need to get some pledges in for this great show. WFMU is in tough financial shape. Our spring Marathon no longer covers the station's annual budget.
Normally, our annual Record Fair provides a desperately needed infusion of late-in-the-year cash, but it's beginning to look like this coming weekend's record fair is going to be adversely affected.
Which makes your contributions now ALL THE MORE ESSENTIAL. Take a moment and make a donation to WFMU. If you have already pledged, please give just a little more. Even $5 or $10 will make a difference.
Great -- as always -- to have you riding shotgun, listener james.
Hope everyone survives Sandy intact, and then has a frightful Halloween! Boo! See y'all in a fortnight...if not sooner.
PLEDGE ALERT...PLEDGE ALERT...
Allan from NYC with a Sandy-sized pledge has blown some serious wind in the sails. WFMU thanks you. Give the Drummer Radio thanks you. Chef Boyardee thanks you.
