Re: photo contest - is January a big month for new bin? What are big months for new bin? Oh, hey, hi.
Avatar 9:06pm
Dave Mandl:

Hi Dave and BRD.

I'm not sure about months.I'm pretty sure Xmas time is big for new releases, for obvious reasons.
Avatar 9:09pm
Dave E:

Good start tonight

G:

I'm not Dave. Did I come to the wrong meeting? :)
Avatar 9:15pm
Dave Mandl:

Gracias, Dave.
Avatar 9:16pm
Dave Mandl:

@G: Nope, this is the place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm
G:

You called me Dave! Maybe I do belong! :)
Avatar 9:18pm
Dave Mandl:

No, I called Dave Dave. This is so confusing.
Avatar 9:21pm
Dave E:

Dave's not here
Avatar 9:22pm
Dave E:

Would that make him Dave squared?
Avatar 9:25pm
D in Miami:

To avoid confusion, I am David, not Dave. There's just too many of us here. But I just go by D here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm
Calculator:

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid... Sorry, overused line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm
G:

I have an Uncle David, for those keeping score.
Avatar 9:26pm
Dave Mandl:

So many Daves, so little time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27pm
G:

I heard dave parties are coming back. Is this one?
Avatar 9:31pm
Dave Mandl:

Yes indeed. No one throws parties like we do.
Avatar 9:37pm
Dave E:

I know a Dave that lives in a cave
Avatar 9:39pm
fleep:

Does Dave throw raves in his cave?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm
G:

That was brave.
Avatar 9:42pm
Dave E:

He craves raves and has them monthly
Avatar 9:44pm
Dave E:

DAve shaves while he waves at the raves?
Avatar 9:45pm
Dave E:

Do you know how to get a one armed Dave out of a tree?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm
George of Troy:

Evening Dave and listeners. Really enjoying this Repeat track.
Avatar 9:49pm
Dave E:

Yopu mean, evening Dave's
Avatar 9:53pm
Dave Mandl:

Hey George. Thanks. Good to have another non-Dave here.
Avatar 10:21pm
Ike:

There is no apostrophe in plural Daves, Daves.
Avatar 10:22pm
D in Miami:

This Dave is liking Dave's show. Again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm
George of Troy:

With all this talk of Daves, I can't resist: www.youtube.com...

Apologies in advance.
Avatar 10:39pm
D in Miami:

Glad that wasn't the Beatles.
Avatar 10:40pm
Dave Mandl:

You mean the YouTube video, or the Last Train to Clarksville?
  10:40pm
Lopez:

Nothing like a little Suicide!
Avatar 10:40pm
Dave Mandl:

The Monkees' version of the song is much better than the Standells'.
Avatar 10:41pm
Dave Mandl:

@Lopez: Agreed.
Avatar 10:42pm
D in Miami:

The song. Oh, was it the Monkees who did that one? I can't tell the difference. I love Kids In The Hall!
Avatar 10:44pm
Dave Mandl:

Beatles/Monkees: I always get them confused too.
Avatar 10:44pm
D in Miami:

I think they were secretly the same group.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm
G:

@Dave M. 10:44: I think that was the idea at the time. :)
Avatar 10:49pm
Dave Mandl:

@G: Haha. True.
Avatar 11:04pm
Droll:

I saw John Fahey play 6-7 months ago. Yeah, he's still this good. If he could sing, he could compete with Dave Lindley.
Avatar 11:09pm
Dave Mandl:

Hmmm, that couldn't have been Fahey. He left us about ten years ago.
Avatar 11:13pm
Droll:

Jezzus, who am I confusing him with -- lives in Tacoma WA. Same style... Grrr... Triple Door in Seattle.... My brain is swiss cheese...
Avatar 11:14pm
fleep:

Leo Kottke?
Avatar 11:16pm
Droll:

Eric Tingstad.
Brain... swiss cheese... The sound is very similar, though, so the crust on my brain still tastes right.
  11:16pm
tinaun:

holy shit yes. glad i checked fmu today
  11:21pm
Fred:

music beautiful music
Avatar 11:22pm
Dave Mandl:

Thank you.

Dave Mandl:

(Though I don't really get the credit.)
Avatar 11:23pm
D in Miami:

This reminds of a piece by Carl Stone. Really nice.
  11:25pm
Fred:

ah! tho it takes a good ear to bring it hear
Avatar 11:25pm
Snortley:

Droll: Lives in Tacoma or records on Tacoma? Robbie Bosho?
  11:29pm
Fred:

Basho' 1960s albums where issued by Takoma ... he was from Baltimore
Avatar 11:36pm
Droll:

Snortley, I was thinking of Eric Tinstad (lives in Tacoma), who is almost as good as Lindley, who is almost as good as Fahey... But I've also seen Lindley live singing old-Americana tunes on a Weissenborn, which is arguably most impressive of all.
Avatar 11:59pm
Dave Mandl:

Night, folks.
  9:11pm
chrisp:

so glad World of Echo is back. thanks for doing your show again!
  8:48am
