That beeping electronic stuff before Krausened reminded me of an album that my older sister bought me for Christmas when I was nine years old--Morton Subotnick's "Silver Apples of the Moon." It was a little, uh, advanced for my taste. I had told her that I liked synthesizer music from hearing Switched on Bach, and Subotnick was the only synthesizer album she could find.

The better question is, how do so many people make it down the Grand Central without bending rims? Potholes at high speed (ok, just answered my own question) dent many a rim.

G:

is that why they have to change studios so long before the marathon starts? to make room for rehearsals?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm
efd:

I'll just chime in that those six rehearsals are with the band -- Scott spends A LOT of additional time working on the songs. And generally the singers only run through their songs with the band once or twice (or sometimes not at all -- Dan Bodah's Cramps song this year, for example).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48pm
Whosondephone:

I think the Conrad track was (Album - Track) Grün - Bis Die Blaue Blume Blüht sounded a little different though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm
efd:

@G, the main reason for the studio change is to make sure any technical or other kinks with Studio B are worked out well in advance of the marathon, and so DJs will have a couple of shows in that studio before the marathon begins so we won't spend our marathon shows talking about how we're in Studio B. ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm
Scott Williams:

Hey EFD! playlist comment poke. and I'll chime in to say that I'm not the only one -- Evan himself puts in much sweat, concentration, and spirit for this thing.

G, the reason we switch studios for the Marathon is that Studio B is much more conducive to fundraising. It's got a 2nd room for volunteers, phones & MCs. we start early to work out the bugs
