Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from July 12, 2013 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

It's food truck round-up day today. I could be hittin' the ShwarmaMobile.

pj:

man i was scared you weren't here today. first no john allen playlist yet this week, then fabio's show was, well, not what i listen to fabio for, and then the airwaves were beastin' long after they should have been brycin'. welcome! (and nothing against the aforementioned shows, but i've been waiting for this all week!)

It's like the 72 Olympics, today!

Dang, this track is like a thousand little free jazz hornets or free jazz flies all swarming around me in a cloud. Not bad.

Brycians!
Avatar 1:12pm
Cheri Pi:

Bryce, I've had Lionel Richie's Sail On stuck in my head all day, got any antidote for that?
Avatar 1:13pm
Carmichael:

Jeez Cheri, that's horrible! You need John Cage's 4:33 to occupy your mind.
Avatar 1:14pm
Bryce:

there IS NO antiode. you just have to get smoooooothe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

Can we just loop Jagged Mesa for the rest of the day until quitting time? I was afflicted with a Madonna song yesterday from Meghan's program. I forget what earworm displaced that song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm
DCE:

do you feel the Lionel mustache bustin' out yer lip yet?
Avatar 1:26pm
Cheri Pi:

yes DCE, all of it. I'm having the full Lionel experience. I guess there is nothing to do but submit to the smoothness of it all.
Avatar 1:32pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Good lord Pi, this is serious. The treatment must be very aggressive. One large plate of garlic fries and no less than twelve (12) servings of Old Overholt until symptoms subside.
Avatar 1:34pm
Bryce:

at a roller derby, if there's one handy
Avatar 1:35pm
Cheri Pi:

With a John Allen shot glass full of curry sauce, I'LL DO EEEEET!
Avatar 1:36pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

If you can manage the roller derby, it's a 0% deductible. But I call dibs on one of the skater's teeth, when recovered.
Avatar 1:37pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I have no idea what I'm saying.

bill:

OK by me, Rev ;
Avatar 1:40pm
Chris from DC:

Meanwhile it's raining again. Please make it stop.
Avatar 1:41pm
Cheri Pi:

yet I'm completely following you Good Pappy. Not a bad place to wait for glass eyes to get knocked out either, the Derby could be a goldmine of free home-taxidermy supplies. Now to get Mitchell Froom to go skating on a lark...
Avatar 1:44pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

It should've been raining earlier, Chris. It would've prevented me from that weak attempt at lunch.
Avatar 1:44pm
Ike:

Lionel is not so bad. I went to a new Burmese and Yunnanese restaurant called Crazy Crab, in Queens, and they were playing Michael Bolton and similar. Ack. Pretty good food, though.
Avatar 1:45pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

...i.e., the "spicy tofu" is never spicy. But the right honorable rev. refuses to learn.
Avatar 1:49pm
Droll:

This is even creepier than Lionel's version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Mike East:

you should know by know you gotta bring your own spicy if you want to sweat.
Avatar 1:50pm
Chris from DC:

Bummer Rev. I should get you the info on the Thai place I went to recently. You want spice? Seriously the papaya salad will incapacitate you.
Avatar 1:50pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

WANT.

yesterday, Mr. CP the younger hooked me up with some nuclear weapon grade hot sauce to dip waffle fries in. I had an out of body experience. I think it was Devil's Breath?
Avatar 1:54pm
Cheri Pi:

it had a nice tamarindy taste to it overall.
Avatar 2:00pm
Chris from DC:

All I can think of is how that would go with the lineup of IPAs they have next door.
Avatar 2:01pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

why does nothing like this happen at Hirshhorn these days? EH?!?!
Avatar 2:02pm
Carmichael:

IPAs go with anything. You can trust my assessment, really.
Avatar 2:04pm
Ike:

The last time I was at the Hirshhorn, there was some enlightening but ugly stuff about the incredible levels of smog in Beijing. So, nothing good lately?
Avatar 2:04pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

got a 22oz Arrogant Bastard waiting for me at home. Just need the hot sauce now.
Avatar 2:05pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Ike: the black box theater is usually a good time. But as for live performances of abstract audio.... unless I'm just missing it somehow...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm
Mike East:

I had a flying fish IPA last week. Might get it again tonight...if I have enough $$
Avatar 2:06pm
Chris from DC:

Last of the Yards IPA at home this evening. I have yet to find the Saisson in the store. That's the stuff.
Avatar 2:10pm
Carmichael:

@the Rev, they also make a double arrogant bastard that will kick you into the middle of next week. I'm going for the Lagunitas at a BBQ tonite, always a crowd pleaser.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm
tim from champaign:

Man, those arrogant bastards are delicious, RTD. I'm heading out to Denver in late August for a week. Do you folkses have any recommendations for must drink breweries in Denver?
Avatar 2:10pm
Ike:

Well, every place could use more abstract audio. Were you there a few years ago when they had Bruce Nauman's big metal thing being dragged around in a circle making an intense grating screeching noise?
Avatar 2:11pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I'm not usually into the IPAs but the 'bastard will do when the weather is...... this....

Avatar 2:16pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

playing an event tom'w which requires the Otter Creek Russian Imperial Stout (we're still in the honeymoon phase & mutually obsessed) - but my store is OUT! Who in DC has seen it recently, and where?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm
Sem Chumbo:

Sounds like a bagpipe piss-up after the Highland Games in New Glasgow. A very good thing.
Avatar 2:17pm

Something in an oatmeal, Cheri.
Avatar 2:18pm

I'll be biting my knuckles until I learn that you've secured his Excellency's Stout.

I Like the Af ursin track. The real name of the artist is Timo van Luijk who has also played with Nurse With Wound. Just recently he released a new LP with his new group Nivritti Marga (Together with Raymond Dijkstra and Frederique Bruyas); fantastic Surrealistic European music with spoken word in French. Essential to listen to.
