Most groups had these artsy, cool, yet convoluted junk going on in their flyers and I could never figure out where/when/who. Then I saw other groups, 9353 is a good example, where the art was there but everything was crystal clear and could be gleaned in a moment. I started trying to make those: BLACK CAT, FRIDAY, OUR GROUP. that kind of thing..

That's why I listen to nice music like Bryce plays: no lurid jungle beats to seduce innocents on THIS show! Bryce would never listen to, much less play rock drums. He's couth.

	1:46pm Mike: I am old enough to have seen Basquiat's samo graffiti on the empty industrial streets of Soho on my way to an internship at The Kitchen on Broome..and helped many bands/artists snipe (what we called wheatpasting flyers to walls). Did that a few nights with dance (yes) curator, Eric Bogosian, Ken would like to know- "We're not living in the dark ages". And saw many B&W xeroxed flyers for Branca, Liquid Liquid, Robert Ashley, any number of bands at CBs, Tier 3 et al. As teen, had no idea...that I was in the middle... though it sure was fun hanging those scooplights from Canal St, sniping and misc adventures inc hearing new music every week for free, sometimes same artist a couple of nights in a row.
