Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from December 20, 2013 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Zack, I am not a coder but I imagine Dan Bodah's Airborne Event must also be excellent to code to, so check out those archives as well. Also, Nick Name was smoothly excreting some fine musical shazz last night on his new show.

[eyes darting back and forth from Bryce's show to the Current State of Software]
Oooooohhh!!!!! Now software makes sense! Or rather, why software is like it is makes more sense!

Indeed, Bryce's show and software are "Not Fit For Any Particular Purpose", as the EULA says.
Avatar 12:57pm
Ike:

Ha, Droll, I was proofing a EULA recently. "You understand and agree that by using [Evil PUP Software] you may be exposed to [third-party content] that may be offensive, indecent, objectionable, defamatory, libelous, false, misleading, inaccurate, infringing of other parties' proprietary rights or in violation of law." What about causing greasy boils or breaking down barriers to dimensions controlled by monstrous demon squids? (Or my boss, same thing.) They left that out.

Offensive, indecent, objectionable, defamatory, libelous, false, misleading, inaccurate, infringing of other parties' proprietary rights?!?! LINK! I NEED THE LINK!

Ike:

Droll: www.nofactzone.net...
Avatar 1:20pm
steve:

oops, yes Carm
Avatar 1:21pm
Ike:

J/k, that's not it. You don't want to go to the actual link. The EULA is mostly talking about ads. False, misleading, libelous, inaccurate ads.
Avatar 1:22pm
fleep:

Are there any other kind?
Avatar 1:32pm
Droll:

fleep, Yes, there are the non-sequitur ads which show a bunch of unrelated scenes followed by the name of the product (soap or garbage bags or whatever). Not even "Ask your doctor is Damnitol is right for you."
Avatar 1:34pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Just back. Consider this a belated and completely redundant PLUS ONE endorsement for the Not Available album.
Avatar 1:35pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

What manner of modular synthi glorious apeshit is this? And does it come in XXXXXXL? New to Leprechaun Catering.
Avatar 1:37pm

ah! it's jason willett & tom boram.

one of my all all all-time favorite dance bands

This song reminds me that I need to get on my roof and adjust my satellite dish
Avatar 1:41pm
Chris from DC:

RTD, you may have seen Tom Boram's modular setup already? Very cool.
Avatar 1:42pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

AH, Tom Boram is involved, i can hear that now. He did a solo set here last year and 'twas tweaky fabulous.
Avatar 1:42pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

aye, chris -- he was definitely of the "active" school of modular performers, vs. the "set it & forget it" method. Both of which I endorse, naturally.
Avatar 1:43pm
Bryce:

hey cklequ, where did you order from? was never able to find a copy!
Avatar 1:46pm
doca:

Great show, Bryce, I hope to see you soon on the dancefloor or behind the DJ pickups, toying with the laser harp!
Avatar 1:47pm

Leprechaun Catering made me think of Snacks... turns out TB was in Snacks also!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm
cklequ:

I just found a copy for $5 at discogs.
A few more still there:

www.discogs.com...
Avatar 1:53pm
Bryce:

ah shit, that's great! never actually bought anything off discogs before
Avatar 1:54pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

Likewise, Bryce. I haven't started buying through discogs yet. I fear a terribly slippery slope towards Total Junkie Overload, if I ever break the ice on that one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
tim from champaign:

Has anyone sold anything on discogs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm
cklequ:

All my discogs transactions have been painless so far.
Avatar 1:56pm
steve:

tim - yes, i just returned from the post office shipping out a discogs order
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm
tim from champaign:

How have your experiences been, cklequ and steve? I keep my collection on discogs and have noticed I've got some records that I could part with based on the average selling price. Just curious if it's worth it to try. I'm not a big fan of wheeling and dealing on ebayz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm
cklequ:

I've never sold ... just had good experiences as a buyer.
Avatar 2:05pm
steve:

i just started selling a few months ago (got a new turntable setup and figured i could break even selling dupicates and rare stuff i don't need). experience has been positive though the fees between discogs and paypal are a bit much - i think amost 10% between the two of em. also the interface for selling and communicating with buyers is not designed as well as it could be, its a little confusing, but i've gotten used to it.

i've just been putting rare stuff up at $5-10 less than the current lowest price and have managed to make a handful of sales since the summer.
Avatar 2:10pm
steve:

ive bought a lot of stuff on discogs over the years... can't think of any overwhelmingly bad experiences... ive found the people who sell on discogs have so far been more reliable than ordering directly from small labels - who have ripped me off and been shady any number of times in the past 10-15 years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm
cklequ:

Your right about the interface, steve. Took me a while to get used to.
Avatar 2:12pm
Droll:

I've been making a killing on arbitrage: reselling Steve's discounted rare stuff on eBay where there are lower overheads. I also save time because the interface is better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm
tim from champaign:

That's helpful steve. Thanks! I'll probably do a closer evaluation next week on what I'm interested in parting with.

steve - do you mind sharing your discogs seller name? I'd be interested in perusing.
Avatar 2:15pm

sure tim, just send a private message via the contact button on my profile page
