	12:41pm mariano: Wow, Irene: like I was commenting during Liz's show, I'm laid up with a head cold and sore throat, medicating and drinking hot toddies, and this Beatles thing is about as perfect a selection for the present circumstances. Thanks so much!

	12:48pm Ike: Y'all seen good things on Netflix lately? I just set my dad up w/Netflix Instant, but don't know it that well myself. He's quite pleased to binge on British detective show "The Fall" so far. Somehow I don't think he's going to go for my Farscape recommendation.
	12:51pm Philo Gristle: @Ike On Hulu Plus we've enjoyed some Doctor Who, but I think that might fall in line with Farscape. Tongs of great Brit tv shows, not sure what would be available on Netflix tho.

	12:54pm mariano: @Philo: I've just discovered, probably years after the fact, that a lot of BBC stuff is on Youtube, a lot of it full-length and even HD. I stream directly to my TV. Such good shows there they don't play on BBC America.
	12:55pm Mike East: @Ike - Luther is a decent British detective show on Netflix. Also lots of Dr Who. We just finished season one of The Arrow which we liked. Lots of other good stuff. depends on what kind of stuff your dad's into and how much of it he's seen already.

	12:56pm Philo Gristle: @Mariano I think it happened fairly recently, when they allowed for longer uploads. I think they were limited to 10 minutes before google bought them. But yeah, too much to be able to watch in a lifetime!
	12:58pm Philo Gristle: @Mike Luther is the one with Idris Elba, right? Its on Hulu too. We've been watching Doctor Who, too, alongside Veep, Walking Dead and Burn Notice on dvd...
	1:00pm Mike East: Yes, except I just call him Stringer Bell. I got into Walking Dead on netflix, too. So many characters to hate on that show, so its nice to know that odds are good that they won't be there long. Except Rick. Why can't we get rid of Rick?

	1:09pm Ike: Mike East, as a cable addict, I'm caught up on Luther S3, the final season. Vs. the first 2, it's disappointing and not credible. It's not on Netflix yet anyway. Also I'm current on Arrow S2, which keeps improving impressively. Check out Nikita too. It's also surprisingly good. My dad won't go for Arrow or Nikita surely. We have OITNB queued up, sounds good.

	1:12pm Mike East: @Ike - the same guy who recommended Arrow recommended Nikita (the guy at the parking garage). I definitely gotta check it out. Also, we just enjoyed the Michael Cera movie: Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus.
	1:15pm Ike: Irene, BBC America has been great w/the same-day premieres of Dr. Who for a few years now. It's strange how Brits get NEW episodes on Xmas. U.S. TV is a wasteland on major holidays. So much so that tiny BBC America beats virtually everything else in the ratings every Xmas lately!
	🥁 1:17pm Sean in Bristol UK: @Kat, not yet, I am prolonging the anticipation. Really getting into "Fringe" which I think Ike recommended so thank you, sir. Just started "Walking Dead" which i not available on Netflix over here, had to fork out for a dvd set.

	1:22pm Ken From Hyde Park: The warm, rainy weather over the weekend melted the snow here. It needs to turn cold again so the crocuses don't sprout up.
	1:22pm Ike: Sean, that can't be worth it. Walking Dead, sigh -- never seen such a stunning gulf between dismal quality of characters & dialogue vs. brilliant makeup and action direction.
	1:23pm Irene Trudel: @slush iron, I think that's the point, and maybe it's just the Edith Piaf rendition, but the Hot Sardines are a great throwback to an earlier time. Just saw them play live a few nights ago.

Also I'm current on Arrow S2, which keeps improving impressively. Check out Nikita too. It's also surprisingly good. My dad won't go for Arrow or Nikita surely. We have OITNB queued up, sounds good.

	1:15pm Ike: Irene, BBC America has been great w/the same-day premieres of Dr. Who for a few years now. It's strange how Brits get NEW episodes on Xmas. U.S. TV is a wasteland on major holidays. So much so that tiny BBC America beats virtually everything else in the ratings every Xmas lately!
