Tony Coulter:

Hello, all. Still having camera "issues," so no pics of today's cassettes. You'll just have to use your imagination (or discogs).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53am
Uncle Michael:

I'm imagining strips of scotch tape over the holes at the back edge of the shells.
Avatar 11:55am
Tony Coulter:

Just the reverse: Imagine a floor littered with little black tabs I removed with a pencil, so that I wouldn't accidentally tape over the things. (Heya, Uncle M!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am
Uncle Michael:

Hey Tony!

I can scarcely remember the last time I peeled a little black tab off the sole of a bare foot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm
DCE:

hey guys!

Greetings!

Yikes!
I was on the wrong channel. Hola, senor Tony! Hola GTDR listeners!

That's a lyric right there, UM -- punky snarl or country croon -- your call.

Double oops -- this is still Die Form's "Blades." Better drink my coffee.
Avatar 12:32pm
Tony Coulter:

Cheezis -- the listed track times are *totally* off on this cassette.
Avatar 12:32pm
Tony Coulter:

See you, Uncle M....

Swami Loopynanda:

Very Good Listening. Harsh Reality put out a nice German cassette culture VA album in the late 1980's: Music For A Divided Germany. HA also put out several other VA cassette comps in the 1980's from single countries (Netherlands, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Spain, Australia, etc.)
Avatar 12:42pm
Tony Coulter:

Heya, Swami! Glad you're enjoying the tape. Weirdly, all artists on this "Germany" tape are *French*! Maybe it's supposed to be their vision of Germany -- or perhaps it's just perversity.
  12:44pm
Swami Loopynanda:

Das Synthetische Mischgewebe is on the Harsh Reality comps from France, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, and maybe even more. I'm surprised not to see them here...
Avatar 12:56pm
Tony Coulter:

I've really never across an album where the track times are more off. Two-minute tracks are listed as 6 minutes, and vice versa. More mind games! Damned "German" frogs!
Avatar 12:58pm
Tony Coulter:

"come across"....

This tape seems to have cleared the house.

I'm just speachless

Hey Andrew!

There was a brief uncredited track in there, just to add to the fun.

I loved it. Thanks for playing it, TC.

anal furgler, huh?
Avatar 1:15pm
Tony Coulter:

Heya, Like a bad penny -- showing up, are you?
  1:18pm
Swami Loopynanda:

Rudi Tüscher of Nisus Anal Furgler was the mastermind of the Calypso Now label, which put out some very thought provoking cassettes back in the 1980's. Switzerland, of course, is the home of Dadaism, the forebearer of so much fun over the years.

nardo:

very much digging this collection. thanks tony!
  1:21pm
Dean:

And aptly this DT tune sounds just a wee bit like Cabaret Voltaire.

"Candle in the Glass House," with Nigel Olsson on pipes and tabor
Avatar 2:20pm
Jeremy N:

I'm hooloopy for the early eighties belgian stuff that so often appears on these oxidized gems of yours, and this one is really hitting the spot!
Avatar 2:23pm
Jeremy N:

So much gauzy mystery to this music, part of me wants more info on the whole scene and part of me wants to resist the urge to try to find out more.
Avatar 2:25pm
Tony Coulter:

You may be relieved to know, then, that info on this stuff isn't easy to come by!
Avatar 2:26pm
Tony Coulter:

It's mostly buried in zines that are even harder to find than the cassettes.
Avatar 2:27pm
Tony Coulter:

So the mystery will be safe....

The revolution will not be archived!
