steve:

good! stuffed swag at the station today, also my own swag arrived recently including the amazing Vocoder LP i won on this very show, and several other items i had no idea i won!
Avatar 8:29pm
Jesse K:

sweet, Thanks for stuffing! I got my bag late last week, so many shirts I forgot I selected. Hope you enjoy the Vocoder, that's a great record!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm
cklequ:

Still waiting for my swag. And i think i've got a couple that i won on this show too. I'm either the last on the mailing list, or somebody is stealing my mail again. Buncha lowlife thieves in this swanky east side neighborhood. I should really head to the other side of town.
Avatar 8:45pm
Jesse K:

unfortunately I can't attest to whether anythings been sent out or not. I had some mail stolen here a couple of months ago but I assume they're not that interested in fmu shirts cause they got through
Avatar 8:48pm
steve:

ckequ - you can email joe mcgasko, he'll tell you if its been sent. lots of swag is still getting mailed out on an almost daily basis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
cklequ:

@ steve - I'm not too worried. I usually get swag pretty late. I'm just getting anxious this year. It's been a while since my mail has gone missing, and whoever took it was very probably horribly disappointed with what they found.

If someone stole my WFMU package from the front porch, at least they'd be getting some quality junk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58pm
cklequ:

Speaking of quality junk. Fucking Sun Araw...

Avatar 9:14pm
steve:

i realize i could google this but is there a good record store for someone who likes classic dance and techno and related music in Providence?
Avatar 9:17pm
Jesse K:

Well of course I like Analog Underground: wfmu.org...
They usually have a pretty good selection depending on stock, very knowledgable staff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm
cklequ:

There's only a handful of record shops in Providence. What Jesse said. Analog Underground is always your best bet.
Avatar 9:28pm
steve:

excellent, thanks, i'll definitely go there. i will be in the area for half a day and need some easy way to entertain myself. haven't been to Providence in 10+ years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34pm
cklequ:

@steve if you're just killing time, Armageddon is just a couple of blocks down the street from Analog Underground. A much different selection, but i've found some gems there as well. (Can't hurt to look.)
Avatar 9:36pm
Jesse K:

yeah, both are recommended. Seven stars bakery, Julian's restaurant and Rocket to Mars thrift shop are both on that same strip. That's a pretty good sampler of the west side
Avatar 9:36pm
steve:

Armageddon shop is big on metal, noise, thrashy punk, grind etc right? i remember seeing their catalog years ago. id definitely check it out if its a few blocks away. thanks!
Avatar 9:38pm
steve:

awesome, thanks JK!
Avatar 9:40pm
Jesse K:

of course! I can give you more recommendations if you're looking for specifics
Avatar 9:42pm
steve:

im big on record stores, healthy/vegetarian food, and wandering around aimlessly.
Avatar 9:48pm
Jesse K:

Julians has some vegetarian food. The Grange (also on the same street) is all vegetarian and delicious but a little pricy sometimes. AS220 is a great bar on Empire st downtown that has some vegetarian food
Avatar 9:55pm
steve:

shazam. thanks Jesse and cklequ! my day is set. i have a feeling i'll end up at the Grange, the menu looks dam good.
Avatar 9:57pm
Jesse K:

cool, now your providence is provident. Hope it lives up!
Avatar 10:03pm
Jesse K:

thanks everyone!
