catching up a bit… I have been arguing that the School of Music here at the U (that is UMN twin cities for you outlander folks) should move away from the Western Canon (were we are B- at best) and move toward music and culture - games etc being the core of my argument. There is a lot of good scholarship and training that we could do not that front.
