	9:55am Rob W: At my job, fairly typical, in addition to New Year's Day and Christmas day, you may choose one 'optional' day (NY Eve or Christmas Eve). And that's it. If you want Boxing Day off you have to use up a vacation day!

	11:31am Rob W: I interviewed Francis Bebey back in the 90s - he lived in Paris for many years, played in NY just a few times. Very interesting artist with unique takes on combining African traditional elements with European music forms ranging from quite genteel to hypnotic to what some people have taken as a bit kitschy (though that always bothered me a bit). His creative identity was connected with what was once called in France "Negritude" - the Afro-European high-cultural movement of mid-century. Sadly he passed away a few years ago, before his mini-cult rediscovery and the release of indie label anthologies. But he actually had many records released in Europe in the mid-late 20th century - see www.discogs.com... .

	11:31am Rob W: I interviewed Francis Bebey back in the 90s - he lived in Paris for many years, played in NY just a few times. Very interesting artist with unique takes on combining African traditional elements with European music forms ranging from quite genteel to hypnotic to what some people have taken as a bit kitschy (though that always bothered me a bit). His creative identity was connected with what was once called in France "Negritude" - the Afro-European high-cultural movement of mid-century. Sadly he passed away a few years ago, before his mini-cult rediscovery and the release of indie label anthologies. But he actually had many records released in Europe in the mid-late 20th century - see www.discogs.com... .
