Avatar 6:28am fxo:

no smoke on the water, eh?
  6:30am Mark:

The Last Poets were badass! Anytime anybody talks about Grandmaster Flash et al as the originators of rap/hip-hop I point them toward the Last Poets. Most people have never heard of them.
  6:31am mauri:

hey sem! on skis.
Avatar 6:33am fxo:

Mark, the Poets have a lot of fans. Like you.
  6:35am marmalade kitty:

Avatar 8:03am duke:

I thought for a minute we had Mecca Normal with horns, but it was just because the cat walked on the laptop and started something else playing along. Cat makes mashup.
Avatar 8:05am fxo:

RevRab: whatever rocks yer boat.

mornin' duke. sounds like a cool mix.
  8:16am Mark:

Nine hours later, I respond with more Last Poets stuff: The two LPS I have are "The Last Poets" (guess it was their first album) and "This Is Madness." Saw them in a tiny place in Chicago in the 90s--one of them had recently gotten out of prison (not sure what he was in jail for, very likely a victim of the War on Drugs).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18am common:

good morning frank and all!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44am Sem Chumbo:

I don't think David Crosby any shone brighter than on that album. It's stayed with me all this time. Beautiful choice, FXO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45am Brian in UK:

Hey Sem. Got that motorbike last Saturday. Holy cow.

Good morning. Taking advantage of the holiday to catch up on sleep. Looks like I missed some great tunes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50am Sem Chumbo:

@Brian: seriously, you did not buy a bedazzled ego trike. Did you buy a motor bike from the REAL WORLD?
Avatar 8:51am fxo:

Cooh John, this will be archived at the FMU website, in a few hours, for at least a month, 24/7. Thanks.
Avatar 8:52am Mugsy:

Frank O'Toole hope you're okay man, see you next time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55am Brian in UK:

Honda CB500 1997 with 20,000 miles on the clock. Looks good. Not a middle age crisis, it would be a Harley then!!
Avatar 8:56am fxo:

before I go out, remember that I'll have a new webcast, next Monday, same time zones.
I appreciate the thoughts for my friend. Stay healthy, ya know?
We have the greatest listeners.
Peace in the valley.
