	1:47am JakeGould: @Ike: Well this was pre-Usenet stuff. All the stuff you are mentioning is like late 1980s/early 1990s before the WWW existed. The BBSes I mention above were true “in some guy’s house” setups where you called a number with your 300-2400 baud modem and traded games. But the funny thing is this: It was so slow back then it made more sense to buy a box of 5.25" disks and just go to some guy’s house and trade games that way.

Even so I was on there often enough that my parents would pick up the phone and hear the Emergency Broadcast System-like noise and get pissed off because I was tying up the line. Heh.
